  • Do you love English movies? Want to know how to learn English speaking with your favorite English movie? Want to know how to speak English like Americans do in movies? Awesome! I’m going to show you a powerful technique for learning to speak English more naturally and confidently. You’ll watch a great scene from the movie Top Gun and I’ll help you break down every aspect of the way the actors speak English. You’ll see, in detail, how the reductions they make can help you sound more like a native English speaker. You’ll learn how to make a Flap-T and how to connect the American English sounds in the scene that give spoken English its unique character. Watching movies is a wonderful way to learn how to speak English like an American. Let’s get started together and let the imagination of the movies help us study English together!

It`s very hard for me to understand the English speaking in the movie scenes, the speed they speak is so fast!
But after seeing this video, I think I know more about the logic of English pronunciation.
Thank you Rachel, you really help me a lot!

Hi, Rachel. Could you explain how to pronounce the -DTH ending words (and their plural forms), like: width(s), breadth(s), hundredth(s), thousandth(s), etc.
Also, how to pronounce unvoiced -THS ending plural words, like: lengths, strengths, eighths, tenths, etc. Then, voiced -THS ending plural words (that were unvoiced in singular form), like: truths, youths, mouths, oaths, paths, etc.
Eventually, voiced -THE ending verbs, like: breathe(s)(ed)(ing), bathe(d)(ed)(ing), teethe(s)(ed)(ing), soothe(s)(ed)(ing), etc.
Those are really tricky for me... Thanks!
