Thank you for another delightful, beautifully produced and narrated film. It is especially warming to see your son share time, precious as that is, with you on this voyage through history.
Thank you! Yes, sharing this adventure made it even more memorable for us and I am keenly aware of how precious those moments are, you are quite right!
An absolutely fascinating vid Mr Messer & son. I was fortunate to discover your channel upon the recommendation of WC21 (UK) Productions Ltd. I have subscribed and look forward to your future adventures.
I really enjoyed this. Its so relaxing and wholesome. I knew nothing of this but now want to visit. One day....one day. Looking forward to your next videos. Youve a new subscriber here.
Marvellous. So nice that your son joined you on this antiquarian adventure and he’ll have this video of his stricken father for the rest of his life. The surviving trees were fantastic. Hedges are the next big thing on TH-cam you know! The countryside and views were spectacular. To my shame, this is a part of the world I know nothing about. Well done for getting up that hill - looked steep. And I’ve never seen tents like that before - are they a German invention?
Thank you! Yes, a night in the woods with your son is a lifetime memory. He even spotted a wolf, fancy that! And we had two shy but nosy foxes watching us cook dinner - incidentally, exactly the Roman dish you did with Tweedy. We collected water (and filtered it) from a forest spring...all the fixings... Now, isn't it strange, us both coming up with the hedge thing? I swear I had this Gebück-Video brewing for half a year at least. Those were no tents, but hammocks with a tarp stretched over. Funnily, that's legal in Germany in the woods, whereas a tent is not. Weird. You are lucky to have Scotland at your doorstep, where common sense still counts for something.

I'm glad you found some of those original trees in the end - it was worth it!
Thank you! I haven't got too high hopes for this one. I just had to do it. The obsessiveness of the historian...

Many thanks for the praise and thanks to good old WC21 for looking after us! May I not disappoint with the coming ones!
