You taste your food, it has a flavour
You smell your soap, it has a scent
If the scent is a food its a flavour in the south.
I mean, the sense of smell and taste are pretty closely related, so it makes sense to call foody scents flavours since the scent evokes the flavour. But they're still separate senses on a technical level.
