My mom always brought cleaning products and our own sheets to hotels. When we go to our room, my sis and I helped her clean. I wondered why she'd insist on cleaning up when the hotel room was already "clean." Now as an adult I keep up the same practice. I don't travel a lot but when I do I don't trust any hotels no matter the star.
My mom worked at a 5 star hotel for 15 years, and she told me that the bedbug fight was constant. People would bring them from home, they would spread, etc. They wouldn't shut down floors to deal with it, they would just quarantine the affected rooms, and call them "Steven Rooms" because that was the name of the pest control man, lol. She said before you put your stuff in the room, check under the mattress for bedbug poop.
Lol everywhere with a continental breakfast has someone in charge of breakfast, they get all the hot stuff made, keep the dining area tidy, replace the food when it's empty, that sort of thing.
Really? Definitely stayed at places with a coffee pot, pastries, and dry cereal. Don't need a person in charge for that. Other than the person behind the front desk.
Cheapest I payed for a hotel was at a super 8 in a tiny town of about 6k. Pretty clean, small room with just a queen bed, chair, coffee maker and small fridge. Payed about 65 for the night and it included breakfast and up to date fast wifi.
Can i just say from being a chef for 14 years and managing various hotels over the years that, breakfast is THE MOST IMPORTANT shift because everybody wants their breakfast
That probably is the case and since hotels are obviously meant for tourists, they should have thought about it. Although I'll have to say the lack of punctuation in the review tends to make it look effortlessly written too, which must have influenced their judgment.
The first thing I do when I get into my room is check the pillows, bed sheets, mattress cover, and mattress for bedbugs. You’d be an idiot to stay at a hotel that has them.
Uhhhhhhh.. you can take home bedbugs from movie theatres, clothing stores, furniture stores, hotels, motels, etc! Their eggs are the size of a pin tip and clear and sticky. They are considered travelers. They can live for a crazy long time without feeding and they lay eggs like mad.
I would be in the front rooms backside over the bedbugs. They should not be open if they are infested. Try running a furniture shop and getting mattresses back from dirty and shameless people. It's completely avoidable..
billl o'connel I wouldn’t accept mattresses back, at least into the regular furniture store. If you had to take them back they would definitely go into another location or storage and wrapped in a casing to not let anything come back with it! Don’t trust that especially with a mattress! Naked bodies, fluids, bedbugs etc... hell no!
You can get bed bugs from a theater. It happened in my town. Lodi, California. I guess they have to be strong enough and have the right partners to spread. These ones resisted most poisons. They said the best way to get rid of them was heat. They brought in huge heaters.
I’ve stayed at the Bellagio, and it’s very nice, not rundown, and the staff were extremely helpful and would do everything they could to accommodate their guests. I would definitely stay there again. No business is perfect, so everyone can have a bad experience.
Hello I would just like to say I am from Miami and I can assure you nothing is "budget" here. Hotels around here cost upwards of $500 a night for a 1/3 view of the ocean.
andridope yes! I stayed at a hotel with my parents and they payed about 400 bucks and they said that our room had an ocean view and it didn’t even overlook the beach. All we saw was the next hotels wall.
I lost a lot of respect for emily when she criticized someone for giving a bad review for not getting a deposit refund, and making fun of someone who probably didnt speak English as a first language.
Ikr I kept waiting for them to say orange but was actually shocked when they said it. I guess it was the "peeled" part that made me think of it. (Or the fact that I ate an orange a couple hours ago lol)
I like to imagine that Rhett and Link wrote The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek using the ten word story technique.
Lmao it will be amazing then. 😂
Me too.😂😂😂
“I’ll see if I can tie it up, I’m going with 5-star”
“It’s a one star”

How big can a bedbug's poop be?
"How do you peel a naked orange?" Just by peeling it? Never seen an orange wear clothes.
Emily's hair is THE BEST!!!!

Emily is my favorite crew member! She’s funny and blends so well with Rhett and Link!
The Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas use grey water so it's not as wasteful as it may appear, this is also why don't really want to swim in it.
I think the roches review was a language barrier there.
thats what i thought wasnt english
I thought that right away also
Yeah, how did they not see that. A little disappointing.
She reminds me of that actor from wizards of waverly place. the one who hosts the tea party and works at the frozen yogurt place
The general manager at my old job brought bed bugs into the building in his book bag.

Oh my lord we live close by 😂 and it is very funny
Chu what are the reviews?
10:56 good job with the french Link!
For some reason when she said "that's where Dexter is set" I was immediately like "Dexter's Laboratory!"
I love how confident Emily has gotten over time. Also the “just a bunch of hillbillies trying to speak French” line was great.
She is so beautiful with red hair
You read my mind! I was thinking about Dexter when you were talking about Miami and then I was shocked when you actually mentioned it.
Best ten word story

I was definitely looking at that Bowery hotel a few days ago for our trip to NYC in June, I booked an Airbnb instead.
This was so fun to watch:)
Watching this and reading the comments made me 3000% more paranoid about bedbugs.
We are going to Buies Creek but not staying there. Just going to have some lunch! Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Conrad Scarr discrimination against oddly tall people. I experience it everyday… it also includes people asking if you play basketball daily😂

LMAO Peelception xD
As a hotel expert, I very much enjoyed this video.
I will never sit in the chair in lodgings without a new towel from the nearest dollar or pound ship so I can throw it away when I am done ☕
just use the hotels towels :)
but what if the hotel's towels have, in Link's words, "you-know-what" on them? xD
Here I am, it is 23.00, sitting on the couch eating b&j and I'm giggling on my own about two grown men saying words like "teeny" and "slippery"

7:03 I’m pretty surprised that none of them stopped to think that maybe this reviewer isn’t from the US and English isn’t their first language.
@Sebastian Meraz what a privileged rich kid thing to say like wtf
That’s exactly what I thought I don’t know why people assume if someone doesn’t know correct english that they’re just stupid or something...
That probably is the case and since hotels are obviously meant for tourists, they should have thought about it. Although I'll have to say the lack of punctuation in the review tends to make it look effortlessly written too, which must have influenced their judgment.

I love to see a review that flames the management for being assholes, but gives grace to the employees for just doing their jobs.
Just vacation to Canada! The hotel rooms are always so clean and the staff is always so courteous!
