Nice tie! I'm going to tie up a few in a bluegill type pattern for largemouth.

Why not keep the second hook?

Those are deadly on Alaska Rainbows, particularly in the Bristol Bay Region.

You cut the hook because we can only fish with just one hook? I was hoping the one hook Reg was a dropper set up.

That's right, in BC we can only fish a single barbless hook.

Is that trailer hook secure enough for the steelhead of a lifetime?; you know: the one I'll never hook anyway so this is a dumb question LOL

When that 44 incher comes cartwheeling out of the water and puts you 100's of yards into your backing you can rest assured that the trailer hook is so perfectly secure that fish won't have a chance. And you'll have your friends at Chromer Sport Fishing to thank.

@@chromers I'm glad it worked out for you, especially on a fish like that! I have two different mods of 30 lb steelhead and neither are 44 inches long. Still, there's no way in hell I'm not at least passing that line through the eye and doubling it back. I'm just not a very lucky person ha ha ha. Thanks for this awesome vid and good fishing to you

You bet you can do that too. In British Columbia it is a regulation that we fish with a single barbless hook in freshwater.
