He told us stories of when he had to walk with his head down when he saw white people, he wasn't allowed to look them in the eye. He had to say yessir, even to their little their kids. My grandmother was FBA and she would tell me how nasty the white folks treated her when she cleaned their nasty ass houses for a little of nothing and watched their babies for damn near free. The stories of the segregated water fountains, restaurants, bathrooms, etc. A non-FBA person can't share those same experiences of what it was like during those times where you could be lynched for speaking to a white woman. They come from countries where some are dark as this man, but mentally they think they are white. They don't identify as being black, that's an Amerikkkan thing. Most of them look down on us, that's why the energy is off.

Fck all the other critique, this interview would have improved significantly if you did two things: 1. put your sign above the blue couch. 2. Sit on the couch and conduct the interview. First you're from an entirely different country making a connection with a popular Nx99x/Black American and that was captivating in itself. There camera back and forth was too much and there was too much space between you to make the empathic connection necessary for a great conversation. Coming from someone who has viewed countless Charleston White interviews.
