Hey Jesse, I reccomend going a little farther north of the Twin Cities, maybe the very north metro area, like Washington and Anoka counties, since there are very pretty areas in that area.

Do the HOV lanes/toll lanes help a lot with traffic in MSP? Los Angeles may be infamous for its traffic. But if you drive the carpool lanes, toll lanes, and turnpikes, it helps a ton. Also, a lot of the newer Los Angeles suburbs have 50, 55, or even 60 mph speed limits on the big roads and synchronized traffic lights, which also helps a ton.
If you can take the HOV or toll lanes here it can absolutely cut off a healthy bit of time!! Our traffic can be a bummer, but it’s nothing like LA or NYC! Traffic is usually the worst after or during a fresh snow! Also Friday afternoons and evenings northbound during the summer can be a drag.
Interesting how much weekend traffic to Northern MN can be. Lake Tahoe in California can see 3 mph traffic after a blizzard as seemingly half the Bay Area drives to ski in Tahoe.

“Up North” is definitely the place to be on during summer weekends!
You should have seen the Elm Creek Reserve playground in the 80's. The current one has nothing on that place.

Maple Grove is great! We don’t handle rentals, so admittedly our knowledge of that is somewhat limited!
