Portimao - Alvor (Algarve Coastal Walk) In this video we walk from Portimao to Alvor on this beautiful Algarve Coastal Walk. The route is roughly 5k but given the tricky nature of the coast it took us longer than expected, we didn't mind at all as we hiked beside the Ocean taking in the beautiful and iconic scenery of the Algarve Coast. Portugal is without doubt one of the nicest countries in the world. We simply love it.

I went to Portugal in April and I absolutely LOVE Alvor and Portimão. They’re laid back and beautiful with just enough nightlife. The food is amazing and inexpensive. I can’t wait to go back. Lisbon is great too but If I had a choice for retirement….it would be either Alvor or Portimão…..easily.

Beautiful views we came back last week and didn't know about the coastal walk. You actually came past our hotels beach bar the green and white striped hut . It opened 1st June x

Stunning views again. Thanks for that one. You both seem determined to get fit together. The long walks are perfect way to do it. I don't think I've seen a video from you on Falesia beach (tomato beach) It's such a nice long walk with Stunning views. We done it in February and walked to Vilamoura. If you get chance it worse the walk.

Another perfect video showing the fantastic Algarvian coast. If you are looking for ideas for another hike, the Fisherman's Trail of the Costa Vicentina Route is also very beautiful. You can do just parts of it, either starting from Ponta da Piedade to Praia da Luz - and beyond if you have the energy and the time - or from Praia da Luz towards Lagos, passing through Ponta da Piedade. Looking forward to your next video.

Gutted I didn't do the walk to alvor. Reminds me abit of the howth walks Love this ♥️ was in portimao last week (came bk to Dublin Thurs) loved it. Me and my husband actually met in praia da rocha 17yrs ago, we lived there for 6 years and hadn't been bk in 15 2 yrs. Actually saw you two watching the Liverpool match in rocha... Was to embarrassed to come say hi lol x

awh thank you! the route we took started at Praia Da Rocha, we continued through Praia Do Amado and then just kept left and stayed along the coastline, eventually we came out at Alvor, sorry we couldn't be more specific but we really did just walk, keep the ocean as close to us as possible and eventually you will come out at Alvor 😁

if in the Algarve, you should get real sun glasses; here the sun is so intense, with a very high level of UV; such disco sunglasses don't protect your eyes enough. UV damages your eyes irreversibly and the white of your eyes becomes yellow too. Idem with sun protection lotions and creams: very high levels please
