    You have to try the bacalhau the cod with olive oil and stewed potatoes and steamed vegetables. Cod pastries are delicious with a strong dark espresso. Pasteis de nata or custard pastries are fantastic. The way they cook the fish is magnificent. beauracracy is definitely a sad reality of Portugal but if you have the patience it can be overcome. the beaches are amazing. all the best

    Sounds like you have all of the bases covered with bikes and a car! We only rented bikes once to get to Mesi Bridge and still have not rented a car. We had to go through a lockdown in Lake Ohrid which as you know is another lovely place. We weren't too upset about being locked down there with how pretty the Lake is. Another place with positive environment and they didn't have tape on the benches. That stinks! They also had a great infrastructure for trade-away food. That Iris pub being closed was very sad! We're jealous of your beach walk! We have not had enough of that.

      Hey guys, thanks for watching, it sucks that ohrid went into lockdown but as you say it’s nice to be in that kinda environment. 2021 is a lot more unpredictable than 2020 we feel, so it’s really luck of the draw with places right now, we just hope the lockdowns are coming to an end around the world, Portugal has since lifted restrictions which is awesome news!! Hope you enjoyed Ohrid, will catch up with your latest tonight 😁

    Great video! was planning to move there this year but opting for Florida now. I’m very disappointed in the Portuguese government’s overreaction and harsh, baseless lockdown measures including curfews. I thought the US was bad in the worst of our states but banning public benches is incredibly cruel. I can imagine how horribly this has impacted the elderly there who can’t even sit for a minute while walking to the shops for necessities. I’ve seen some interviews of Portuguese children talking about the abusive, draconian measures they’re ensuring in their schools. Keep in mind Portugal’s reputation for being one of the most child-friendly countries in the world. Considering the virus is no threat to children, this is completely unacceptable treatment - child abuse, in fact. I’m equally disappointed in the Portuguese people who haven’t pushed back against this totalitarian blueprint being laid out. How quickly they seem to have forgotten what life under dictatorship was like. I had high hopes in the humanity, intelligence and sensibility of the Portuguese to stand up against tyranny for themselves and as a beacon of light for the whole world. It’s not too late but I fear it soon will be, especially if social credit digital IDs (aka vaccine passports) are not made illegal as some states in the US are starting to do. Say goodbye to your privacy and personal freedoms FOREVER if digital IDs are allowed to happen. These vaccines do not stop infection or transmission which means only the most immune compromised should even consider getting them. At best, the vaccine reduces symptoms for the person who is vaccinated. Your vaccine does NOTHING to help other people!!! This is extremely important to remember when fear propaganda tells you we should vaccinate for the public’s benefit and to blame the unvaccinated. That’s a massive lie just as masks and distancing are lies. There’s no need for any of this theater and we now have all of last year’s data to prove it and demand a complete, full return to normal. Demand it! Don’t wait for it. Our power zealous governments force us to demand it.

      @Ariesmonique 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you're totally right! It's so sad to see a lot of people follow the criminal governments all over the world because they always did that and only listen to their propaganda.
      Even in the Netherlands there are a lot of GPs warning people but all they say is we are conspiracy thinkers...Really frustrating!

      They are not vaccines they are a synthetic drug combining messenger rna with nano technology as well as using some other dangerous ingredients.When a leading member of the eugenics movement who has said on record that the world is overpopulated and needs to be reduced is pushing an untested ,unregulated injection then alarm bells should be ringing

    Hi guys, I'm going through all of your videos, fantastic! I'm looking for a real answer and all i can find are positives... how rough is Portimao? Are there areas that are more ghetto-y? I see you've been back to Portimao twice instead of staying in another area, so it seems you like it best? Thanks for any info!

    • @GoTimeTravels
      @GoTimeTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, thanks so much for watching our Portugal Series, we really appreciate it ❤️ An honest answer is we found no part of Portimao that "rough" Portugal is extremely safe and we spend many nights walking along the beach at midnight with zero hassle at all. There is obviously parts of the Algarve that our quite Party orientated but even then they are very safe, if you take Albufeira for example, thats a big party town and it can be a bit "mad" but its still safe. We pick Portimao because its quite central to the Algarve, we also love Alvor which is really close to Portimao and we are also close to Lagos which is also a lovely town. We have spent so much time in Portugal and we can honestly say we never once felt afraid or worried. We are from Dublin and we would consider Dublin difficult to walk around at night, however Portugal and Algarve in general we felt safe all the time. Hope that helps.

      We arrived early this year, at the time a test was not required, however I believe it is needed now. As a European you can stay in Portugal for 90 days. If you go over you need to apply for an extended visa, but I think the 90days visa has been extended due to lockdown.
