Tiny Mixed Media Paintings (on Tiny Canvases)

- I've been saving these tiny canvases (& tiny easels!) for a rainy day and today is that day. This was my attempt to make tiny mixed media art, keeping it fun while also making artistic choices. I highly recommend trying tiny art as a warm up or other exercise :)
Materials used:
Acrylic paint & gloss medium (novacolorpaint...)

*Love* *these* *Jackie!* (and your encouragement to get out what we've been 'saving' as well :) I actually tend to work small (though not quite *this* small) but I tend to intentionally use much less material in the smaller spaces -- you've encouraged me to have a stab at treating the small space with more respect :) Thanks as always for sharing your adventures in art-making ❤🧡💛

I adore these tiny canvases! And could the teeny easels be any cuter? I've got a tin box of watercolor paper postcards that I've been saving for when I "get better" as watercolor painting. Sigh. You've inspired e to pull them out and use them. Thanks! ❤

I love watching the process with almost any artist, but I really, really love your commentary. So real and raw and genuine. That sense of play, of creating with no agenda, that hooked me into abstract/multimedia art. I see you doing the same, and it seems so right.
Oh that’s so nice to hear - thank you! And yes, the “creating with no agenda” part is what makes it so fun AND therapeutic. It’s essentially going to the creative gym and working out. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 If only I found actual exercise as much fun… 🤷♀️😆❤️
The universe is telling me to stop saving my “special” supplies. You and Regina Brett on the same day. “Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.” AND I love the color palette on these!

I love these so much, I love celadon green and Payne’s gray together! The fluorescent red looks amazing too, I saw a flamingo when you put that scrap on! Loads of inspiration here, oh and, I love the “I will not throw stuff on the roof” note!😆💕🇨🇦
I have a large stack of old business cards that I can't seem to get rid of. I keep thinking I'll use them as an odd sized ATC or something. After seeing this, I think I could do a BCAD project (as opposed to the ICAD projects I see others do). It would be a fun way to use scraps :)

I love these!!! I love tiny & small art! I have a small strip of wall (maybe 6”) between my studio and kitchen …. I’ve hung a collection of tiny art there… nothing is bigger than 4x4 I think!
I also love hanging small paintings on the wall just above table height… under the bottom edge of lampshade height!
So many great places to hang little art for guests to discover!

I have looked at these tiny canvases in the store so many times. I pick them up and then go put them back. Next time I will have to keep them in my basket and give them a try. These turned out amazing! I think they would look great in my library tucked onto a shelf.

We took apart an ikea bed a few years ago and I asked my hubby to cut the wood slats into 4x4 pieces. He even took the time to round the edges. Mini mixed media abstracts here I come. 💕✂️🐞💕

Ok so I’ve entertained picking up some tiny canvases at the Dollar Tree and doing this and now you have given me the push! I have a tiny space on the houseboat that I been thinking could use these type of tiny works! 🤞🏼

These are totally wonderful! Makes me sorry that I threw away a bunch of tiny scraps the other day. But there are always more to be made! I think this is a lovely project and not at all silly. Small is beautiful!

Hi! Yes, it's wet paper towels and a sheet of baking parchment on top. I put my paints on the parchment and it prevents them from drying out too fast ❤️

These are really beautiful (as always). Only problem is: now you have to build a dollhouse - mansion to hang them in!😀💝🍀(oh haha, you had the same thought!)
LOVE these and my first thought too ... original doll house art! I love the small scraps and this is the perfect use for them. I'm pretty sure there is a niche market for such items. I used to hunt for such small delights for my daughters' doll house.
