    At time of publication, it is illegal to ride a privately-owned e-scooter on the public highway in the UK. All riding shots and photos in this video were filmed on private land with the landowner's permission. You must adhere to national and local laws governing e-scooter use.

      The circumstance you describe is absolutely tragic and unjust.
      It is the moral duty of sane, civilized people to resist the evils of authoritarian control.

    Tip 7. Get someone to push you along. That way, as long as they are super fit, you’ll get plenty more range. Just remember to stop every now and then to give the pusher some water and a little break.

    The graphic in the thumbnail reads: "Go Further" but when talking about measurable distances the correct usage is "farther."
    When talking about degree then "further" is appropriate. Example: "I went further in my college education than many others of my generation."

    Electric motors are losing effectiveness greatly at their top speed range. So basically there's a speed where your motor is taking way much power than if you went a bit slower. So if you need the maximum range - don't ride at maximum speed. Keep it a little slower that your scooter goes.

    Actually, I was riding against the wind and rain today and it was catching the hood on my Parka. Used 4 bars of battery on my Ninebot max instead of the usual 1 on a 9 km ride, so it definitely makes a huge difference!

    • @sleepyrasta14820
      @sleepyrasta14820 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you about the wind I find it's better to just push it if it's too strong. You're not going anywhere fast riding against the wind and you use more battery.

    Putting alternative lights (front [high-mount LED] and rear [red]) decreases battery drain slightly - slightly. Also improves safety (one static, one blinking - surprisingly effective). Plus proper/correct lubrication of all lubricatible parts. Common sense really.

    Hi, Michelle. I'm a newbie to electric scooters and after a month (month and a half) of renting an electric scooter (dunno what brand/model) from one e-scooter company here in Doha, Qatar, I finally got my brand new *Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter 1S.*
    *Questions:*
    *_1. Does using cruise control consume more battery energy or saves more?_*
    *_2. What and how does regenerative braking work, and does it affect battery life of my electric scooter?_*
    *_3. Is it OK to charge my e-scooter currently at 4 bars to 5 bars full?_*
    Thank you so much in advance. Keep up the good work. I love your Channel and it's contents. Perfect for beginners and very easy to understand.

    • @RidePureElectric
      @RidePureElectric  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Mark, Thanks for your kind words about the channel! Always good to hear that our content is beneficial! In answer to your questions:
      1. This would consume more battery, but you shouldn’t see a significant difference compared to riding it without cruise control
      2. The e brakes regen work by using the motor as a generator to top up the battery when the motor is slowing down.
      Hope this helps! Safe scooting!

    And the actually most important one that no-one seems to mention: GO SLOW.
    Going from 20 to 25 km/h is a 25 % speed increase, but your aerodynamic drag increases by 56 %!
    Going from 15 to 30 km/h is a 100 % speed increase, but the drag goes up by 800 %.
    Unless you're in a hurry, stop wasting energy moving air around instead of moving yourself.

    The fact that we have to look up videos like this proves how ineffective electric motors are compared to a tiny combustion engine. Too bad we can't buy kickscooters with a hybrid engine; that would be much more efficient.
