  • The long, not so highly anticipated follow up to AMBIENT WALKMAN SYMPHONY. This piece uses the same concept using individual tape recorders as various parts of a song, but this time with longer, even more extreme tape loops.

    Damn that was eerily beautiful.
    Sounds and looks like a place where cassettes go to die. I would easily let that loop run for hours. You’re like the embodiment of a buddah machine dude.
    A sacred sound medium for sure

    Tape Loop Orchestra was the name of my band in the mid 1980's inspired by Daevid Allens and Hugh Hoppers tape experiments of the late 60's and 1970's.

    How do you store/transport the "half tapes" that you create for these works? Or are they just made, used and then repurposed for other works?

    What type of effect pedal is that? awesome sound

  • @brettnfk
    @brettnfk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    To a total noob like me, can someone explain the process here? I see four separate loops of tape, each with different sounds on, each being faded in and out with something (a mixer? Not sure what that’s called), and I see an effects pedal which is being applied to the output of the overall sound of all the loops? Is that right? And for connections, the cassette players are connected to the mixing thing? The main output to the speakers is from the effects pedal?

  • @falklandss
    @falklandss ปีที่แล้ว

    Wicked. Hey man, quick question, how is it possible to insert tape on the cassette recorders head without the actual cassette enclosure ? Did you cut the cassette enclosure and made a base for it to play?

  • @ggb1169
    @ggb1169 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    With everything that’s going on this might seem like an odd question.
    How do you cut the cassettes? Just a metal ruler and drawing a box cutter across it again and again?

    • @drpibisback7680
