You could always use some sort of pry bar or board for leverage. Be simple to make one, that can help raise it up. I'm IN !

but why design it so you have to lift yourself? You get castors so you don't have to...

    • @rmc2701
      @rmc2701  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks for the comment. Yes, castors will move the table, but to keep it stationary, when you're doing work, you will need to keep it in position.
Locking casters will work but they are always on their wheels, so they can still move when you put force on the table. Plus, you have to find the locking lever which is always a pain.
Foot operated retractable casters will also work but they have to be easy to locate with your foot (usually on the outside of the table) which is a tripping hazard.
With our retractables you can mount them inside, hidden and out of the way. Our castors are not for every application but they can really help when you need to move something easy and quickly. Our castors are designed to be hidden, keeping the item you want to move looking good and preventing any hazard of tripping.
      Thanks again for the comment.

W T F !!! Perfect as long as the bench isn't 200 on one side, but I don't think most people who would use this on a woodworking bench for tight spaces is going to have a 200 plus pound bench. Perfect for my small shop area that shares the space with the wife's van. I can move it out of the way when not being used.

  • @wesir427

Seems like a good way to injure your back, these workbenches are normally a few hundred pounds and loaded up with tools, safer to get one of the casters you step on.

      Hello,
      Thanks for the feedback!
We agree that these casters are best used on items that can be raised safely, without injury. A lighter workbench is just 1 example of the many different things that these casters can be used to move. Since there is no foot pedal needed to engage, they can be hidden and placed out of the way of any tripping hazard unlike the foot pedal casters.
Once again, we appreciate your feedback!

You have a good point, but these would be perfect for small shops that share the space with say the wifes van. You could always use some sort of pry bar/board for leverage. Be simple to make one, that can help raise it up.

Sorry but all I see is a CAD drawing with motion put into it. Somehow the mechanism magically extends all by itself, caused by some mysterious force that cannot be seen. Might be better to show the real product on a real table with a real person showing how it's used.

@@rmc2701this is a way better video. The CAD isn't impressing anyone.
What makes you think this is the only "truly" retractable caster? I've had retractable casters on my workshop furniture for years - so I'd be interested in hearing why you think this is the only product that deserves that moniker.
Cool product, but marketing is a little cringe.
