You failed to mention his tremendous on ball defense and his overall ability to keep elite point guards in front of him and at the same time apply great ball pressure. He was strong as hell and never gave an inch on defense.. You ask Iverson, T. Hardaway and others pound for pound he was a great defender. I loved his game....he was also very durable...played through nagging pains he was someone you could count on day in and day out!!
Yeah, Travis was just a bull on D....He was built like a brick, and so low to the ground with good feet, so he could keep basically anyone in front of him. He was a late first round pick....A lot of late first rounders don't make it passed one NBA contract. He played ten productive NBA seasons as a solid, reliable backup PG at only 5'10"ish. Not everyone that gets drafted in the first round is an all-star. I don't really think his growth was stunted at all. He really got absolutely everything out of the ability he had.

TBest was my guy at GT, he lost some of my respect as a hooper in the '98 ECF. Every possession he'd dribble the shot clock down to 5sec before initiating the offense. When Marc Jackson ran the show, the O was fluid (see stunt #2). I've met and interacted with him on several occasions, and yes he is a great human being.

Travis Best was so good. Boy was he quick. Stunted you made a great point that I didn't recognize watching him play over the years. He was not the greatest facilitator, making his teammates better, or making the correct play at the correct time. Great observation bruh and great video. However, boy was he fun to watch though.
Thanks. I remember back at the time, Travis was the most stunning bench player (who could have started the games) against Bulls in late 90s, especially in games aired in Hong Kong. Because we simply didn’t have that much coverage at the time, we only were able to watch a few. But he already left audience a very good impression. It is good TH-cam channel like yours can retell those missing stories to us. While talking about short size players but not yet up to top notch international fame, I remember another short player Earl Boykins. (I know some comment wouldn’t agree as I know he was famous. But forgive my not so precise English.) I would love to see some stats and clips he had for a 10 consecutive 20 (or 30) points games in his career. It was a feat for a small size bench player. I told him Travis best. I liked his play in the series where they nearly knocked off Jordan's bulls in 98. He was similar to Vinnie Johnson coming off the bench and giving his team buckets. Excellent handles and scoring ability.
They act like TB was a scrub, how when at those times at GT was known for producing Point guards like M. Price, S. Marbury, K. Anderson, and I think two of the Barry brothers, hell I remember when Tubby Smith sons played nice at the PGA position. Travis best was nice with the rock point blank.
