    Amazing video! I was thinking in a video where you can see all the parts of the Chiller and how they work. I know you already have a video like that but I was thinking of a more advanced one. Thank a lot guys love your videos!

    Let me start by thanking you for providing in-detail education on chiller and HVAC system. It always brings me good amount of knowledge. I have to ask one question out of curiosity that what to expect from upcoming video?

      Glad you enjoyed. We will be covering many new topics for years to come. We are planning some electrical videos soon also continuing with HVAC. If you would like to see something then let us know.

    Very nice video, very informative. I have one query to ask. I believe the Control Panel will be part of the Chiller to monitor and control the various parameter as designed by the manufacturer. However, when it comes to interface to client's BMS, what are the various interfacing signals we need to consider to facilitate Remote monitoring / control of Chillers ?
    What's the standard industry practice followed ? Chillers would be one of several equipment in the Pharmaceutical industry that are monitored in BMS.

    Great video! I'm looking for a little bit more information about what you say at around @6:20...if the chiller was able to turn on-off/on-off repeatedly in a short period of time, it would cause damage at the electrical bus bars etc. Is there a written source that explains this phenomenon in some detail...i want to reference it in a paper...also is the start timer enforced through software logic or is it a mechanical timer? Can it be overwritten? And secondly, if the timer was somehow disabled, wouldn't the motor thermal protection prevent the huge inrush current from causing any damage to the electrical distribution system, by breaking contacts...or is the hypothesized damage at the bus bars due to deformation due to thermal loading/unloading. thanks in advance.

      @EngineeringMindset  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check out inrush currents. There are a number of ways but it's usually software, you could over ride it but you'd have to really know what you were doing. Depends what class of thermal protection was used, induction motor burn outs are still possible usually from breakdown of insulation

    was that screen shot of the display from a Trane chiller?

    • @EngineeringMindset
      @EngineeringMindset  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The screenshots showed in this video come from multiple manufacturers, the graph and graphics interface was a Daikin Applied (McQuay) chiller, the Green screens were from a Trane and the grey screens were from a Carrier, if I remember correctly.
