22:15 .. in sub question b) for Vdpb sir you took t =8mm which is of cover plate but for sub question c) for Vdpb you took t=10mm and why not 8mm bcz in question cober plate is of 8mm
cover plate aur main plate ke beech mein 6 bolts lagenge na ki 3 jaisa in mahashay ne bataya hai completely unexpected how can the level of iit kgp be so low ,cant understand
sir pitch is p= 40mm
strength of solid plate is governed by yielding not by rupture
In Books(N.Subramanian & S.K Duugal) also they used Rupture Formula For Finding Efficiency.
Bolt values calculations aren't clearly explained 32:00 mins , Without clear explanation skipped.

yes it will be 6 no.of bolts as per my knowledge
thankyou sir as good lecture on diff type of striength due to varrious ocuurrence
English hum sharminda hai...tere qatil zinda hai...
The no of bolts required is 6 (@14.50) ,so it means 6 on each side in a butt joint, then why is he providing only 3 on each side (@16.45)?
yes, you are right. total 12 and 8 bolts will be provided in question 1 part b and c respectively.
@@vishalbarwal6659 brother, why we need 8 bolts in part (c)? Shouldn't 6 bolts be sufficient? 3 on each plate?
strength of joint along 3-3 203 kese aya?
sir in second question how the value comes 203 at section 3-3
Why fu value is 400? Because of steel?
I think efficiency should be calculated here with respect to yielding of gross section rather than rupture.....
In Books(N.Subramanian & S.K Duggal) also they used Rupture Formula For Finding Efficiency.
While designing Single Cover butt joint, instructor didn't account Reduction factor for packing plate in determining Design Shear Capacity of Bolt.
Because it is not necessary....
We don't want to use packing plate there.....
how is the strenght of joint... 0.9fu... where is the formula?
See page 32 of is 800:2007
clause 6.3.1 of IS 800:2007

Sir how 203 at section 3-3
Fu should be 410 na?
why only shear strength and bearing strength were calculated in eg 1
because only shear strength and bearing strength were asked ?
sir why we take min bolt value?
At minimum bolt value only bolt starts to fail....
If bolt value is higher there is no chance for failure....
pitch = 2.5d = 2.5*16 =40mm not 50 mm.
40 is the minimum value of pitch required.so we can take higher value
We take the hole diameter
According to clause 10.2.2 of IS 800:2007 minimum pitch= 2.5 d, where d is the nominal diameter of the bolt.

Correct the 1st math... Check the gross dia
ye 150 kha se aagya..
1st of all, sir you r very poor in spoken English... Try to avoid "kok kok"...
