Sometimes if I’m trying to get my wife fired up, I’ll sing the chorus to this and do a little sexy dance along with it. In 5 years of marriage it’s never worked. She just rolls her eyes and says “nope”. I think I might need to change my strategy.

@Art Vandelay (George Constanza, is that you?) Anyway, I hate to be the first one to point out the obvious 2 Live Crew classic "Me So Horny". I know it may be vulgar (and I apologize) to some, but hey, the "clean" version was a number 26 pop hit in 1989! Different times, man, different times.

This is a stone-cold pop disco classic, hands-down! Rod has a very varied hits catalog that spans at least 6 decades with 34 Top 40 hits. One choice (out of many): "The Killing Of Georgie (Parts I & II)", a song Rod wrote that was very personal to him, and I know you will be extremely moved by it.
I wanted to point out other Stewart classics for you, but on a personal note, your interaction with your mother reminded me of how much I miss talking and laughing with my mine, who died in 2008. As I was growing up in the late seventies/early eighties, she was the one who was always playing music (of any genre) in the house (LPs) or in the car (8-tracks!). She enjoyed sharing not only the current music of the time, but music she loved of her past with me, and my love of music from her is something I will always cherish. My earliest memory of music is hearing Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke" blasting on one of those old gigantic Hi-Fi turntable stereos! (70s/80s kids know what I'm talking about.) (Apologies to everyone if I got a little too nostalgic and rambled on, so thanks for letting me share that.)

He had several hits in the seventies, many of them kind of "spicy," but this one was probably his most danceable, since it was his one attempt at a disco song, dating to 1978, the height of the disco era. It was a huge hit. Maybe equally spicy was his 1977 hit "Hot Legs," but it is straight-up rock, not disco. His first US hit was a soft rock song from 1971 called "Maggie May," and he had another soft rock hit in 1975 with "Tonight's the Night," also spicy but less directly so, plus a soft love song called "You're In My Heart" that hit in the US in 1977. He had many more hits in the UK.

This was his contribution to UNICEF’s “Year of The Child” campaign in 1979 which included a concert at the UN building in NYC where he performed this song which went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Proceeds from the sale of the single went to UNICEF.
