Watched a million, trllion fitness - healthy eating - lifestyle videos. Clarence is the first and only person who mentions the importance of enrichment of foods. Thought I was the only one who sees this as an underated aspect of good health.
@@lenisemicolon There is more enrichment than just B12. Look at a box of white rice. After enrichments, more nutritional value than long grain. One of the wonderful success stories; after cereals were mandated to include folic acid, birth defects declined significantly in the US. By the time a woman becomes pregnant, it's too late. Good government policy and the power of science.
carpe diem I was just giving one example since B12 will always come from some kind of supplementation. My point is that eating a multivitamin and eating fortified foods are two ways to accomplish the same thing whereas micronutrients directly from foods may be absorbed differently and more readily in their original package than they would be as an extract.
@@lenisemicolon You're correct. I realized my mistake after I sent my response. No idea which nutrient vehicle is most efficient. But, wouldn't you rather consume something liberally fortified if you had the choice? Reading labels for saturated fat saved my life. Only recently started looking at enrichment. White rice causes more insulin spike but has excellent nutritional value. Yet you wouldn't know it from media.
Clarence stating openly that he didn't care about how it would affect his performance speaks volumes about his character. Most people are far to selfish to give even the slightest bit of consideration to the suffering of the animals they eat, and would never imagine sacrificing their taste pleasure, especially if it would affect their athletic performance.

Someone should seriously very seriously consider sponsoring Clarence to become an Olympian. He has good very good potential it might be an Olympic champion and he's already at a level which is very high. @@lenisemicolon the opposition is that it's impossible in certain countries do use substances that need to be used in order to get anywhere near the podium. The way this works is athletes use substances offseason and then get clean before competition he can't do it now because as soon as he signs up for a competition at least a year in advanced if it's a national competition he will get tested several times a month so it's impossible.. you can also buy off the people who come and do the testing that takes a lot of money though.
Raw Power I hadn’t gotten to the point in the video where he recaps this, I was remembering back to a Q&A where he discussed the same thing. It sounds like his point is that overall the playing field isn’t level because there are different standards for different athletes; that wouldn’t change no matter what standards he was being held to. Seems like he is satisfied with his strength and doesn’t need an Olympic qualification to validate it.

Vegetarian diet didn't affect performance or digestion so great only that I cannot find vegan foods without soy that have good macros. Any suggestions?
Beans and legumes like lentils, chickpeas, kidney beans etc. are a good source of protein and moderate amounts of carbs. There's seitan, which is wheat protein; very meaty in texture and has a massive amount of protein. It you don't have a gluten intolerance, seitan is a good choice. And then as far as mock meats go, there are plenty of wheat protein and pea protein products out there which are soy free. Brian Turner does 'full day of eating' videos on TH-cam and he has done a few soy free days just to give his fans with soy allergies some ideas. The info is out there if you look in the right places.
