I'm 58 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, we are finding it impossible to replace it. We can get by, but cant seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 40years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for

Cass…I wanted to say thank you so much for your great tips! Almost 3 years ago, I interviewed at my company. I asked the hard question and got the job! About a year and a half in, I used your tips to get an interim position while my boss was out on leave. About a month ago, I watched your videos again to get a promotion with my company. I asked the hard question yet again and they were impressed. I also asked “What’s your biggest challenge in your role, and how could I help?”
The interviewer was impressed and a few days later I got the job! More than a 100% salary increase. You are amazing, and I’m thankful you take the time to put out this amazing content!

Re: lighting: you know those little clip lights that you clip on your phone to take selfies with? Those work too. Clip one, or several, to your laptop and you're golden. And they're only a couple bucks on Amazon.

So I had a group interview this morning and I listened to this and a couple of your other videos.
I was up against a couple of younger women and they hadn't prepared like I had thanks to you.
My age and vacation plans may not get me the job, but I did the best I could.
    Thanks for your advice 😊

So many awesome tips. Made a note to close my windows in my office to drown out the road noise. I have a virtual interview today and doing all of my prep before it starts.

Such great tips. #3 is often overlooked, but can make a huge difference. You come across as more polished, and the interview flows so much better. I like to have a couple of phrases in my back pocket in case I need a stronger conclusion, like, "I hope that answers your question. I'm happy to give more detail if needed." This way I'm not just trailing off or ending with the dreaded, "So....yeah."
Thanks for all you do. LOVE your videos.

#21 - don't use or depend on the microphone in your usb webcam. I've found the mic in my Logitech doesn't pick me up so well, so I've bought a cheap Samson Go (usb) Mic. It's a lot better, and it keeps my voice at a constant volume instead of fading in and out if I move my head slightly, plus it my voice sounds fuller with it.

I interview in a few weeks for a director position. It's the first time I'll interview for that high of a position. Do you have any tips that differentiate interviewing for a director position vs an assistant or associate level position?

Honestly, it's just about authority and experience. Make sure you are demonstrating in your answers that you have the level of experience necessary for the role.

OMG believing in Murphy's Law is the BEST thing you can do if you want to be prepared. I don't mean you should walk around in your every day's life thinking something bad is going to happen. But if you'ore preparing for something important that's out of the ordinary, think of 500 ways it can go wrong (because it will), and then prepare for it.
