  • In Episode 03 of the Practicing the Way podcast, John Mark Comer and Tyler Staton argue that every person is a product of spiritual formation, regardless of what they believe, and describe ways to present ourselves to God to be counter-formed in the Way of Jesus.

Basically nothing has a finish line and always trust and praise In God as he gave you life and will continue to carry you through life as long as you trust him but you also need to have a relationship with God, not just hope that he’s there.

Our church has been going through Practicing the Way and many of our community groups have been doing it on a weekly basis. We just completed the fasting practice and it has been amazing. I used to fast in the past, but now I am learning so much more. What’s even better is doing it in community. Thank you so much. I will be 70 soon and sense God growing me so much more since we started this series beginning with Sabbath.

Early in the video (at 1:05) Mr. Comer says of Jesus's words in Matthew 7:13-14 that Jesus "could really use a PR person in a marketing department." Did you really say that? Mr. Comer, are you giving Jesus advice? Because you think His words in said Scripture sound too harsh? Please, I urge you to recant this statement, in light of the warning in James 3:1. I have listened to several of these podcasts. And you and Tyler make several good insights into discipleship. Yet, my concern is you're not giving the full picture of Jesus according to everything He said and did in the four gospels. And that some of it you're interpreting through the lens of modern psychology. Please let Jesus be Jesus. Furthermore, how is your understanding of the discipleship of Jesus in the gospels relate to the gospel teaching of justification by faith alone in Paul? I have observed that it's almost trendy today to treat the Pauline epistles as deuterocanonical in relation to the Gospels. I write all of this in love.
