This is really helpful, thank you so much! Can you do a product list for the caulking brand, undercoat and gloss coat? I followed your link and found the shopping list for tools but would love some advice on how to choose the other products if possible (and you probably already know but as a fellow TH-camr, if you sign up to amazon affiliates/associates, you can make links that people can follow and you make a little bit of money on it too without changing the price for your followers!). Thank you again!
Hi Nate, it was a little hard to spot but we put a link to our websites "How To" guide. It has a list of all the tools used, here it is again for quick reference: harrisbrushes.com/how-to-guides/how-to-paint-a-window-sill/#used-tools
I am using harris brushes, buy the rest is not clear. Please explain better - how many layers are there in the end? primer, undercoat and top coat? Or just primer and top coat? Its not very clear
I recently learned I have to strip the wood, since the numerous layers I've applied makes each new coat show the brush marks even more so. Two ways to remove the old paint: heat gun to bubble up/loosen the old layers before scraping away, or use a chemical paint remover, then scrape away. We'll see...I'm about to try the first method!
I watched 6 videos on painting upvc none mentioned what paint they used you mentioned gloss THANKS
Had a few dents in mine so used wood filler first, then primer before top coat.
What paint and what sandpaper would you use

Hi, that's a great idea! We'll look into it.
I just Chuck a load on and paint, water based is best.
It all settles down and leaves no brushmarks.
How many coats?
You missed a big opportunity by not linking the products in the description!

I prefer gloss it’s harder to apply but it lasts it doesn’t yellow.
Thanks
oil gloss yellows the most out of any paint especially nowadays with restrictions on what ingredients can be used.

Hi DAKESIS17, in this case we used a good quality primer and then the top coat. The primer acts like your undercoat.

Great paint brushes but very poor video. Missed out so much detail and good tips. Harris, you are better than this!
