Oh, thank you for such a reaction! This is a very deep understanding of Barbara's song. And a high appreciation of her skill. This song and this singer are real art. I'm from Russia, and I didn't understand a word, but the singer's vocals and emotions tore me to the very depths of my soul. The power of an authentic artist
I like you to do a reaction to 15 year old Emma Kok singing this song of Barbara in 2023. I am a grown man, but after a few lines, i was crying. Emotional and Mind blowing. It looks like song and the lyrics are written by Barbara for young Emma. It suites the story of Emma so well. Your reaction to the lyrics almost demands a reaction to Emma's version. I know you will not be disappointed. Emma does the song with the full orchestra of André Rieu. Her version has, just on youtube alone, 73M views. A new dimension to the song. th-cam.com/video/KdIhq1tb8Co/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
As someone who follows Barbara since almost her beginning, I just wanted to tell you that "Voilà" is a song that is part of a "triptych song". "Voilà" is the first one ; "Le jour se lève" is the second one ; "L'homme et l'oiseau" is the third and last one forming one story named "Voilà, le jour se lève sur l'homme et l'oiseau" You should really listen to those 2 other songs because it put the story together (on Barbara Pravi's YTB channel, she has a video of all the songs and MV put together to great that story). But you're right about what you felt for that song and the meaning behind it. Love from France 🇫🇷 ❤
I have to admit the first time I heard this like many other people I think was with Emma Kok singing. Both artists give me a slightly different vibe when singing it, both are wonderful in their own way.
Beautiful vocals. And powerful lyrics, which have even more power when sung by the young Emma Kok, who is living these lyrics as though they were written about her.
What strikes me is the big difference between Anglo-Saxon songs and French songs. One is based on rhythm and music while the other, like the troubadours of the Middle Ages, is based on poetry or a story embellished by music. There are of course exceptions on both sides, when I hear certain songs by Leonard Cohen like "the partisans" which he sings in French and English, we see the link.
Great reaction, bravo 👏 I read some comments that refer to Emma kork version who has given a second life to this song, without mention what they think about this original version by Barbara Pravi 😢 I love the two both ❤
There is indeed a story behind this song. Barbara was in a abusive relationship since she was with a man who mistreated her. This song was her way of ending it and moving on.
Nice reaction on this song! More French songs? Maurane (with Lara Fabian) 'Tu es mon autre' Jaques Brel 'Ne me quitte pas' Ricardo Cocciante 'Marguerite' And something completely different: Sissel singing 'Slow down' -Pie Jesu -Like an angel walking through the room Thank you, grts from Belgien!
Thanks for this comment, if you want to see another version of voila then watch this one from Emma Kok ( th-cam.com/video/KdIhq1tb8Co/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lAa6n6Im4luI9BlN ) . You can't miss this one with intro, the counter stands at 67 million viewers
Bonjour Rosalie ! I find your reaction very beautiful and moving to a song that is too! Allow me to advise you to also listen to "Jacques Brel" who is a Belgian singer (like Lara Fabian) and actor who died in 1978. And more particularly his song: "Ne me quitte pas" live which means "Don't leave me". It's very beautiful, poetic and full of emotions! Keep it up ! Bonne journée !
I'll give you something to try out...the Official Lyric Music Video..."Delusion", by Liliac....You want to READ those lyrics...and see what the message was...Then pick your jaw back up from the top of the table...
I am from France and i am glad that you react to this song. Pravi is such a great singer. She knows how to give goosebump to people. There is so many great singer and beautiful songs from France. If you want to listen to others great singer from france, you can count on me to help you.
I can write in english if you cannot translate.
The live performance from Eurovision 2021 for this is on another level, so much better than official video.
Yes !
You definitely need to watch her live performance in Eurovision. It hits hard!

I prefer the Eurovision original by Barbara but recognize Emma is stunning indeed.
I prefer when the singer can actually speak the language of the song ☠️
