@@Spammit-ye4vw he's been busy with school, that's why he took a break. really the only reason, according to him, as he just didn't have the time. and most of those times? took him less than 15 minutes per track. that's jsut how insane he is. -_-
Knowing that Wirtual specifically waited to watch all the world records and didn't at all watch ANY of them as he played the maps so that he could experience them for the FIRST time with his chat for a video warms my heart.
I agree. It sounds like content to me. He planned this video already and decided to wait for the right moment to watch the world record. I'm curious if he mimicked micka if he would have placed higher on the leaderboard.
I think probably an undervalued aspect of these runs is that Micka is probably finding all these lines, and then people are watching the WR and catching up
There was a recent post by Mudda about a slow FS cup of the day in which he completely dominated the EVO guys and Down. Some players are just so insanely good at a certain track type that no other top player can really challenge them. Micka's domination on ice is also reminiscent of Serral from the SC2 scene in that both are pushing the skill ceiling much higher. It'll be interesting to see which of the top players adapt, and which of them stagnate.
Yep. Although Serral is more like a CarlJr. You can't really define him as a specialist of this or that. He's just always there, always a menace, and in the end, he wins.
It just baffles me how people can drive that good on ice. I played TM just a little bit casually, but ice is so hard to manage, making these runs truly a work of art!
Genuinely, it's so good to see Micka return. He was very vocal about disliking the ice update and it definitely took the wind out of his sails for a bit, at the very least impacted his motivation to keep practicing on the new system; but now that he got past that hurdle his insane level of control and finesse still shines through. Watching him dance on the track is as beautiful as ever. The ice god is alive and well.
its seriously beautiful how top level ice looks so similar to ice skating, especially with the catches and Gorilla Grips etc. working like crossovers for speed
i like how for the last few bits you just hear "Death by Glamour" in the background while Micka is pulling these stunts and its just like YES that is perfect
@@marian5566 He watched all during his attempts to run and told the chat to pretend it was the first time. Hence all those allusion to "it's definitely the first time i see this" etc. Pretty funny tho :D
Answer for dominance in one specific 'material': Tennis Federer used to beat everyone in all courts except specifically Nadal on Clay. Nadal was the most dominant clay player of all time.
Yes Nadal is the equivalent for domination on one surface. At the french Open tournament in 17 years he has 112/3 (wins/losses in 115 matches) record and he won all finals he participated in 14/14... And all other Clay tournaments He was also clvery very dominant. On the other surfaces (hard court and grass) not so much though
21:08 Yes, there are many cases where #1 is / was waaaay better than anything behind. Chess Carlsen & Fischer F1: M Schumacher Running: Usain Bolt And many more..
You talked about if any other players/athletes dominate on a specific surface. Look at tennis, Nadal: Clay, Federer: Grass, Djokovic: Hard court. It’s very typical for certain players to be better in certain conditions.
Yes this happens in other competitions too. The Arnold Schwarzeneggers... The Muhamed Alis... Michael Jordan... Wayne Gretzky... or someone you may know... Magnus Carlsen! Even in eSports... Faker in LoL In RL Zen is considered nearly unstoppable and so on and so forth.
Other games in other genres? UT99 VT_Grumpy_Bunny stomping the devs themselves at UT2k3 public E3 unveiling probably counts, but other than that... or VT_Grumpy_Bunny stomping Insomniac at Jak:X racing's E3 unveiling... It's also not unusual when fighting game tournaments hit certain cities and someone off the street walks in and curbs stomp the ESports players. So yeah, there's precedent for various players blowing past competitions and clearly being in a separate league. Those occurrences seem to less common now as "Most" games (e.g. anything from EA / Activision / Ubisoft) tend to ramp down a difficulty curve. Even Trackmania fell victim to the "DeCurve" effect with recent campaign releases designed to NOT punish console players. Thus it's not surprising that one player clearly performing better than others just based on sheer skill or memorization of mechanics is, in and of itself, going to become less common.

Micka: casually 18 seconds ahead
Once Micka finds out other surfaces exist trackmania's going to be screwed.
