My scar is still raised from the upper eyelid surgery and it has been 15 years!!! My doctor's office said to just keep pushing the skin against the bone under the eyelid scar and they never told me how long to hold it against the bone or how hard to press it with my finger. It has been so frustrating and I try to hide it with eye shadow but then the line still shows even worse. I'm about ready to use a fibroblast pen to the lines.
Hi @2bless8, Sorry to hear about your problem. Technique in suturing the incision is important to prevent scars, especially in ethnic skin prone to keloid, or raised scars. I would have to examine your scar to determine if anything can be done, but I do advise against trying to reduce it yourself as it could get worse without proper training in using devices. I hope this helps you.
@@AmiyaPrasadMD Thank you for answering me so fast. Well, I used the Dermavel Pen to my thyroid scar on my neck that I have had since 1992 and it came out softer and shallower or flatter and I can barely see it. I don't touch the skin and use it on a lighter intensity. I do have a few qualms about using it on my eyelids though.
Hi@@2bless8, I still recommend a consultation with an experienced doctor about what can be done to reduce the prominence of your scar. I hope this helps you.
I had double eyelid surgery twice, it has been a year since my revision, but my scar still is very noticeable... Is it possible to get better? What treatments (like laser) can I do to improve it? I also had lots of allergies crisis on the euelid during the healing time, and I still have some till this day, maybe these allergies impacted my scars?
Hi haha zaza, I would have to examine your skin type before recommending laser treatment. Many Asian skin types are not candidates for laser treatment because of risk of hyperpigmentation, but there are other possible treatments such as PRP to soften scars, but I would have to evaluate the scar before recommending a specific treatment. I hope this helps you.
Hello Doctor i’ve read and saw many videos including your videos about the eyelid surgery scars but I couldn’t find anything about the scar I’ve got from my eyelid surgery , mine is like a white tiny line , the doctor told me it will take few months but its been around 3 years now , is there any specific treatment i should do or cream I can use ? Thank you
Hi ruqaya abd, Although I haven't seen your scar, even people who never had eyelid surgery have a visible line in their eyelid where the eyelid skin folds to create the crease. The position of this natural line is the same as where it would be if you had cosmetic eyelid surgery. Therefore, regardless of whether or not you had eyelid surgery, there will be a visible line when you close your upper eyelid. You can refer to this video for an example of how the incision line appears after my patients heal after upper eyelid surgery - th-cam.com/video/HQn-OgpQRZI/w-d-xo.html
Hi El Sul, Sorry to hear about your trouble. While swelling may last up to a year after surgery, you should not be feeling pain by this time. I suggest you see your doctor, or get a second opinion from an eyelid specialist about your healing progress if you are still feeling pain. I hope this helps you.
