What was once thought to be the Apache playing harmonica was actually the women shrieking echoing in the canyons as they plucked each other’s eyebrows with their teeth thus earning the misnomer of Apache harmonica music. Ok it’s more of a guess than a fact.

Apache means enemy. The Calvary scouts, usually Sioux, would say apache which in their language means enemy. Navajo is similar.
