The key to rope dropping, or doing anything with kids in general, for me is to enjoy the moment and don't be in too much of a hurry. Enjoy walking with them to the attractions. Enjoy seeing them be in awe of everything. That's just as much part of the experience as riding the rides. And when you're rope dropping, even if you aren't front of the line, the wait times will still be much lower than the rest of the day, so it's still worth it.
If your looking at your kids and going slow during RD you will be trampled down like a baby gazelle...After the initial pandemonium of RD that is sound advice!

I loved the old hour early entry. Our family was always able to get Space Mtn, done and all of Fantasyland finished in that hour.

Holy cow dude, I couldn't believe how bad my allergies got while I was there. So that's where that path leads to - I ran into a no trespassing sign & turned around. This trip I decided not to rope drop - I admit, not the greatest decision but I also had after hour events so it ended up ok. Great vlog Kyle, thanks!

Thanks for doing this rope drop. This is exactly the way I plan to do it in August. Hopefully it works as easy as you had it. Fingers crossed. We are all early risers so this early time is no big deal for us. I don't like to wait in lines longer than 30 minutes so early entry is for us plus adding Genie plus and fingers crossed gettitng a Tron virtual cue for the first time. That will all be a magical day if it all works out.

Wow! Why an awesome rope drop!! Rope dropping with kids is difficult!! At least my younger ones, walk way to slow and distracted by everything. I wish that early entry would go back to an hour. 30 minutes is ok, but tough to get the most out of it.

Back in 2019 my friend and I ate at Be Our Guest for breakfast. We went behind the rope before the park opened and after went straight onto mine train when the park opened.
Nice rope drop! I miss the days where staying at a Disney Resort hotel gave you actual extra magic hours after the park closed. I remember doing that back in 2012, staying at Wilderness Lodge, and we had three hours after the park closed.

Kyle, have you tried local honey sticks for your allergies? It has to be local honey and you can find them at local farms and stands and markets etc. in your area. Thanks for this latest clog of Fort Wilderness it was one of my favorites along with the family vlogs with Mom , Dad and Alexa, always love seeing those. And of course Casey too! 😊

Is this significantly harder if you're staying at AKL? For a first timer to Disney World... I'm concerned about the only-bus transportation from that resort, and potential difficulties getting to and from parks easily. (especially MK)

Seven Dwarfs would be my rope drop ride, as it’s a new ride for me since my last visit and I’ve wanted to ride it since it was built.
Kyle, excellent job and well done blog. I told you like a few months ago in comments. You have to take advantage of your annual pass benefits. Rope Dropping and end of night dropping for extra Magic is good. Remember, 10-15% of Disney merchandise and food at restaurants. Show that card with Casey.
I watched the new peter pan on disney plus it was ok. Wow what a perfect rope drop morning! I tried doing that years ago for seven dwarves and it must've only been seconds because the line was long so I left and when to space mountain and walked on.

Love rope drops, especially when the crowds are that low and the rides are actually running! In January we had the best intentions to do a similar rope drop, but so many rides ended up breaking down, that the very few open ones had hour+ waits before the 30 minute early entry even ended. Curious to know when this was filmed, it looked like Splash was showing a wait time in the app, so guessing early January?

Rope drop king! That is a great morning!
Not only was this a great rope drop but a great solo rope drop. You shredded. When I go to Disneyland by myself I always try to rope drop (not as many hotel guests) and haul through as many rides as possible. Stress level goes down so much for the rest of the day when you can just sit around and enjoy the park vibes.
What about a video to open Casey’s first pitch see how bad of line to wait to do it on a Monday party day which we will be doing Nov Mon 13th what time should we line up to be first ??
So we would rope drop a lot more when my kids were younger, it was easier when they were little. Now that they're teens, it's hard to get anywhere early. We're big on stacking our G+ LL. They sleep in, I have my coffee, work out, eat and then we get moving probably by mid morning. We will do extended evening hours if we can and likely we do an after hours if it's available.

Non Disney expert here, we visited April/May 2023, got to every park between 9am-10am and did every ride in the parks without using genie plus. I’d only be doing this kind of thing in the busy summer months

My family started doing the same thing by timing how long the wait actually is. So many times they say its a certain time when half the time it isnt that actual time
I have rope dropped with an 8 month old and then again when he was 18 months along with my sisters 8, 2.5 & 15 month olds haha. It's surprisingly not horrible and probably easier when they are younger and thrown in strollers.

Awesome tips for rope dropping. Doesn't look that bad for non resort guests either.
I went for a 'rope drop' at Animal Kingdom years ago (as a non-resort guest); can't get in without proof of being a guest . . . so, had to wait for regular hours. Got to smell the early morning whiffs & poofs while 'killing time.'
