My 16 year old loves to spend his free afternoons building replica models of all sorts of things out of cardboard. He's done tanks, airplanes, ships, suits of armor, and experimental aircraft from the 40s and 50s. It all gets counted towards his history and science credits.

Thank you, Sonya. Ive recently been battling huge doubts about homeschooling my high schooler next year. I love CM but didnt see how I could do it for HS. You're explanation gave me so much clarity! It is very possible, and actually a good option to keep his love of learning alive! Thank you for the encouragement to keep pressing on. And the practical help too.

This was great! I've been mulling over how to get the record keeping side of this done. The work isn't the problem, boy howdy! I know my children are getting an excellent education. Just how do I make the paperwork pieces fit to appease the state. Thanks.

I was doing 4hrs a day for middle school (7th grade). Is this too much time?

Some families will vary in the amount of time they spend total depending on the child and subjects being taught. There is still the value of carrying short, direct lessons throughout the day as much as possible.
