I taught in a public school for 39 years and am now teaching a homeschool group. The organization and daily structure is so different that I'm learning a great deal from these videos. Thank you.
So practical and well explained. I know I needed to hear this today! I have been full out planning for a couple of weeks and this is helping me pull it altogether! I had the pleasure of being at a conference once with you as speaker and I did not get bored.I loved the hands on, applicable lessons. You have been one of the best speakers I have ever listened to.
Thank you for this! I've been homeschooling with a Charlotte Mason curriculum for three years and I myself am burned out. I LOVE her principles and subjects but fighting my 9yo to focus every day is tiring. I'm ABSOLUTELY going to try this TODAY! So thank you for a ray of hope❤️
thank you so so much for this. You have put my nerves at ease. I have been struggling with how to schedule my sons year, and you gave me a lot to think about. This is my first year using the Charlotte Mason method. Thank you so much for this.
I understand that!!! I’m in the middle of scheduling (Just finished my term) using the book she mentioned in this episode. It has been so very helpful in considering curriculum choices, supporting resources, pricing and scheduling. I would recommend it. I got the ebook version. One great aspect about the book is that it doesn’t matter if you use the CM method or something else. It may help if you haven’t scheduled before. This is my first year ever scheduling.
Thankyou, so much, for walking through the planning process. I have heard this concept before of alternating different types of activities, but you helped me understand better what that looks like. I appreciate you💛Thanks again !
I loved it. We have classified our subjects in Difficult Easy and Textbooks (since they are mandatory in my country) and they are the ones who organize their day, choosing this and that in such a way that it is a balanced mental diet. This dynamic makes sense if we follow Mrs. Mason's recommendation when she says that the menu should be varied for at least 15 days.
So vary the type of work throughout the day so that you don't burn the brain out in one area (logical work, reading/narration work, writing work, memorization work, etc) Categories are based on materials, method, movement
This is great, and enjoy your videos. But how does this work with multiple kids? I'd love to get some instruction on how to make a CM education work with large families (4 or more kids).
It depends on how close your kids are in age and what their ages are. If your kids are close in age you can double up on certain subjects (science, social studies, foreign languages etc.) If they are older and capable of doing their own school work independently then they can decide what to do. Personally I prefer planning for the entire year and buying curriculum instead of having to plan out more every week. But to each his own. Best wishes to you all (ps I'm a mom of 4:oldest is 6 who is in 1 and 3-4 grade, 4 yo who is in prek and kindergarten, 2 yo in prek and a baby)
I'm Conducting a research for Homeschool. Your comments would be appreciated. ❤ Hi Everyone, I'm Carissa, homeschooling mom of 4 boys. I'm currently taking a design research course certification and I need to conduct a research about a topic I'm interested to solve. I wanted to design an app to help homeschooling "better" and "easier". I personally always struggled with finding the best curriculum for my needs, and scheduling. So, I was wondering if anyone can share their homeschooling frustrations and what did you do to try and solve it? Did your solution work or are you trying to find other solutions. Thank you.

@Family RODRIGUEZ rooted in CHRIST! Hi there, yes. I am homeschooling 4 of 6 this year. :)
I just set out everything for the day and let my children choose what they want to do first, next, etc. Just so long as everything gets done.

Thank you for sharing what has worked well for you within the requirements of your country!
And this is why I only plan a week at a time. I need to make adjustments.

Yes, I'd LOVE to figure out how to do this with multiple children of a wide variety of ages.
We'd love to help! simplycharlottemason.com/blog/your-questions-answered-charlotte-mason-with-a-large-family/
Gather Round Homeschool could be a helpful curriculum.
@@SimplyCharlotteMason Thanks, that was helpful. I also watched the boxer video with sample schedules which was helpful too.
