thank you for the subtitles, I am from Medellín and I learn about ours birds and english language at the same time, jajajaja very grateful for your job.
Hey Santiago! You're very welcome, we'll be adding more subtitles soon and we're heading out to shoot our first video completely in Spanish next week, so watch this space :)
Thanks Joseph, glad you enjoyed it. And it was so fun birding with Sofi, hopefully the new bins set her on a future fun and rewarding journey in the world of birding :)
i come in colombbia sooner than I hoped. I’m going to the andes ans llianos in february, I don’t know what to expect to see, but I’m really looking forward

Another great episode from a great series. I loved the short section on the Parker's Antbird; I watched this episode almost exactly 29 years after the great Ted Parker died in a plane accident doing an Rapid Ecological Assessment : -(
Thanks for watching Charles; glad you enjoyed it. That antbird was a tricky one to film for sure! And what a loss Ted Parker was to the world of ornithology and birding, it's quite remarkable when you're using eBird or Merlin in the Neotropics, how many of the field recordings are his, and usually of the rarest, most elusive birds. A true great.
This is a great episode- I really enjoyed it! It's got a little bit of an Anthonhy Bourdain feel to it- using birds (in his case food) as a means to unlock conversation about the culture and lifestyle of a region. Works for me.
Your production quality shows. These have got to cost a fortune to produce. I thoroughly enjoyed it. You are not only great ambassadors for birding, but also for the nation of Columbia.
Thank you Ed! Until Kowa offered to support us in this episode and Tranquilo Bay in the Panama episodes this has been a labor of love, with our production company WhereNext covering the cost of the shows to keep the good birding vibes in our office and community!
Acabo de descubrir este canal y me encanto este episodio. Me trae de vuelta a Colombia. Me hace querer trabajar para la conservación de nuestros recursos. La educación es muy importante.❤ Gracias!
I have spent time in Caldas (I lived in Colombia for over 6 years) and spent ample time in rural areas and let me say in the early morning the birds in Caldas in the coffee region sing in a way that is over the top deliriously magnificent. It's like Heaven. Please take this as constructive criticism. You're getting in the way. 15 minutes in and you only have permitted only extremely brief snippets of birds singing. Why don't you let people listen to the birds without constant music and/or endless commentary?
I have lived in Colombian for 6 months a year in the coffee region for years. The reason birding like this is because it is not affordable to the locals. WAY out of their budget. I even get to the point where I don't like to go because of the prices.
Great video. I appreciate how you convey the enthusiasm to the young lady. Well done
Another wonderful episode. Love the combination of birding, culture and the promoting of Sofia's passion for birding with the gift of binoculars.
glad you liked it!
Cannot believe that in my time of surfing the internet for masterpiece birding shows I missed this. I'm subbing.
thanks for landing here then!
THANKS for your words!
I saw the Male Altra Marine Grosbeak in the northeast of Brazil . State of Ceara near the town of Potengi. Jan 2020.
Cracking bird!
Great show guys! Thanks for spreading the joy of birding 🙂

Subscribed a few days ago. Love your show, especially when you're on the road. Felt the young girl's joy when she received the bins!
