  • Billy Cobham (Panama, 16 maggio 1944) è un batterista e compositore panamense. Oltre ad essere un musicista di talento innato, Billy Cobham è anche un raffinato ed originale compositore che ha saputo spaziare da un genere all'altro senza porre alcun limite alla sua musica, ciò è dimostrato da una vasta discografia e dalle numerose collaborazioni con artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo. Già nella fine degli anni sessanta ha rivoluzionato il modo di concepire le parti destinate alla batteria, aggiungendo una forza creativa all'ambito ritmico ed assegnando ad esso una centralità senza precedenti. Proprio per questi fattori è riconosciuto come il più influente batterista jazz-fusion nonché uno dei più virtuosi per la sua potenza e tecnica percussiva. Ha raggiunto l'apice della fama a metà degli anni settanta divenendo uno dei musicisti più imitati nell'ambito jazz, fusion e rock, ed è tra i pochi musicisti ad essere stato insignito con il "World Class Master" premio alla carriera che viene consegnato a quei musicisti che con passione hanno portato un contributo all'arte della musica avendo anche innumerevoli collaborazioni.

    I love this song! It gets to the piano solo and I get sick of it. Not feeling the pianist at all. Like he doesn’t know his part! This guitar and violin play the opening arpeggios the guitar holds down the guitar and horn parts. This key man ruins the whole experience to me. I love everything else happening. The piano, his solo seems like he got another song in his head. Just my opinion as a Detroit musician.

      You're absolutely right. Guy completely shatters the momentum the song had going, as well as that solo just being sub-par anyway.

    even in a live classical powerfully jazzy rock funk classic drumming music, this long version is still too damn immoral.
