For a moment, I thought you were hunting Haggis, which we all know is currently out of season. 😂
It was tempting, I tracked three and had clear shots on them, but had to decline, oh well, it’ll soon be haggis season 🤣
What a shot you dressed it well and to cook it outside was priceless thanks
I got lucky, the little sucker almost gave me the slip, but he tasted good 🤣

Me thought you were going to hunt the wee Haggis a very elusive wee creature. Some with long legs on the left side and short on the right side made for running clockwise round the hills occasionally there is a throwback one with longer legs on the right and shorter on the left for running anti clockwise.
Sadly, all our hills are counter clockwise, so we don’t get haggis, but I’m hoping to arrange a hunt later in the year when haggis are in season up in the Cairngorms, where many of the hills are clockwise 😉

Very enjoyable to watch. Why does vittles, cooked out of doors, taste better? In late October here, i always carry the makings for a hot cuppa and something to eat. Stump shooting is hard work! Lol. ScottinUSA
For me it’s not the shooting of the stumps that’s the hard work, it’s the dragging them back home to put in the freezer that takes it out of me, freshly dispatched wild chilli con carne is a great source of energy, just what you need before dragging a stump home 🤣

Calor fatwood is news to me.
While on jobs I have been known to light the Kelly Kettle with some Shell 99octane thats what you call a rocket stove.
As a side some I do like the little click together collapsible stainless cube fires they work well on damp ground and dont leave scorches.

why you may not hunt with the bow in Scotland?
Bow hunting is illegal throughout the UK, presumably thanks to the actions of irresponsible fools.
We often hear of waterfowl with crossbow bolts stuck in them, leaving the poor creatures with horrific injuries, which gives you an idea of what would happen if bow hunting were legalised.
Sadly the UK has more than its fair share of idiots, and in order to limit the destruction they cause, the government has opted for a blanket ban rather than actually focusing resources towards removing the idiots from society, lazy policing.
