Barike's album titled On Country was recorded at Pacific Gold Studios Rabaul using track 24 reel to reel and engineered by Greg C Seeto between August and September 1991. This was when PNG hosted the 9th South Pacific Games now known as the Pacific Games.
At the 1991 Matalau Nakikus had graduated from UPNG with a university degree in Law and returned to Rabaul to rejoin his mates at Barike and produce the classic One Country album.
