I am over 50 and having been wavering on going to Ghana for the past couple of year. This video has helped so so so so so much!!! I am so excited to book my trip this year!!!! Thank you!!!
You should go.. it’s fun, high vibrational, happy people and people all ages hang out day and night at beach restaurants, high end restaurants and bars.. People in Ghana love to celebrate every day… There is a lot of adventures to go on as well.. botanical gardens, lovely resorts, colonial/slaves castles, waterfalls and rainforests and safari.. I’ve been all over the world and Ghana is one of my best spots. I’ve been there 5 times.. Ps.. I’m over 40 and Ghana is very fitting for my age..
Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 is quite developed, it's not backwater. It's one of the wealthiest and industrialised Caribbean nations. Kudos to the lady for choosing Ghana. Kudos to Dela for doing a good job at portraying the truth.
At 24:30 She stated, in Ghana “You’re going to come with a lot of knowledge and skills that you can actually give to help others here in Ghana, that need the help …it’s very rewarding”. Beautifully stated✨
It's wonderful that Ghana offers opportunities at any age, yes those people who are in retirement mode do give a few hours of your time volunteering that will be appreciated.
Yes, sir. That is our signature term, "we bussing a lime" or "we liming" Talk nah? I is a man happy to see fellow Trinis making the trip to the motherland for visits and planning to repatriate, brother. Warns my heart.
Nice chat, interview and conversation. She is really brave to come to Ghana alone and move permanently without visiting first.I hope she enjoys her stay in Ghanaaaa.
As a Ghanaian, I feel proud,if our kit and kings, came in our midst and love it,Akwaaba, our culture and hispitality, is putting smiles, lets keep it up
This was an excellent interview. As a Ghanaian living in Canada who also is nearing retirement with a plan to retire in Ghana...it was very informative. Lovely lady. Jasmine Ama interviewed a couple who are expats from America retiring in Ghana. The wife is Trini too. She should link up with them.
I am so happy to see you interviewing one of my countrymen. I've always thought that Ghana (in videos) reminds me of Trinidad and Tobago, and after looking at this interview and hearing about her experience so far, I definitely want to visit more than ever now. 😊
I love this conversation and the woman is real those in the diaspora who wants to come keep in mind that we have our challenge, so don't come with high expectations and get disappointed later
I know that all that shines is not gold but if you don’t investigate you won’t know that it is gold! I say give Africa a chance and don’t believe either way, come to your own conclusions ❤ from the 🇺🇸
Dela, thanks for your interview, watching from UK… Ghana is good to live there but one needs an income to manage esp if you have children to take care of… one day I will be coming home to settle down as well.. will link up when I come this summer ❤
Nice interview the electricity and water outage certainly a challenge when you’re not used to it. So for people coming from the west try to stay in a rental that has generator backup. Of course if building ensure you have a bore hole and solar then you will indeed feel like you are in paradise.
There’s nothing wrong living all your life abroad and retiring in other country, the world is a global village now, there are Africans who have vow to live all their lives in the diaspora, there are a lot Ghanaians who have lived all their lives abroad and died there.
🥰 what a beautiful perspective Esther👍🏽Yes the world is a global village now. It use to be that America 🇺🇸 was the country that was known as THE LAND OF THE IMMIGRANTS because that's all America throughout it's origins & history has ever been comprised of (people from all over the world) but now people really are moving all over the place & living out their lives in these area's so the world is truly becoming a melting pot
Great interview with Sandra. Dela, be very proud of yourself. You are having an amazing effect on influencing diasporas to "take the plunge" and return home permanently.
@@sandraperez6613 You are more than welcome...those who have helped (taught) me in the past are Ray Holman, Clive Bradley, Ken Philmore, Knolly "Panther" Nicholas, Scipio “Sarge” Sargeant and other greats...but I have to admit, I am a small fry. 😂
The only option you have is a yearly residence permit. I heard that the government is working on a residence permit that would last for multiple years though. After living in Ghana for about 5 to 7 years, you can apply for citizenship.
My concern about living in Ghana is the level of debt the government has and the recent IMF loan. But I respect ghanians as good people but I just hope they don't want to exploit the diaspora and thier yanky Dollar
Dr Tony sir a lot of country's went to lMF in this year and I think you don't know so is not only Ghana l just want you to know and my country is doing good more than others
@@drtonyfearon7318 so what not all people will like you and if you are a Linder you just do the right thing for Ghanaians people l think education is the key of life some people wants pocket money
@@mercybaffoe1025 thanks a bunch. Those who are planning to stay, retirees or working age know our issues. In fact, it's an inexplicable connection. Basically, they want to help solve the problems. Glad of your response.👍🏾👍🏾👏🏽👏🏽
Brilliant interview BUT l have a different opinion which l might get chewed for it but it’s ok. Here it goes, Africa does not need people who settle to retire, it needs people who settle to help build the economy. It’s a beautiful continent, we cannot use all our years building other continents to then go to Africa to just wait to die??!! Is that what our continent is worth?
I like to look at this a different way...she has already invested in Ghana buy building her home there...I am sure Ghanians are employed for that project. Also, some from the diaspora that I know personally who built their homes, have hired housemaids, landscapers, and security and they pay them above the average.
When African Americans return in order to stay they are not above having to go through the processes which is that they must become a benefit to their Ghanaian communities & these are citizenship requirements that aren't optional so they automatically come here w/ the mindset that they have to invest & @ any age w/ this plan in mind as long as you have the money to do so Ghana 🇬🇭 can definitely benefit from having you around so so your retirement should never be seen as an unimpressive liability but rather an asset 😁... akwaba/welcome & enjoy your stay 👋🏼
She's adorable! I hope she continues to find peace in Ghana 🇬🇭

This lady is definitely Ghanaian. She looks like my mother-in-law. She also looks like she is from the Ga tribe.
I thought of the same. She looks so much as a Ga woman. I thought I was the only one who sensed that. Lovely interview!
That’s my beautiful mum ❤️
