Haven't told this story in a long time, if ever. My dad was a chemical engineer. Gawd knows what he was keeping in the basement. But, we were flying paper airplanes into the dusk of a late spring or early summer night. Just as the sun was slipping away with only a sliver of light, my Dad had came up with a concoction to soak the paper airplanes. I couldn't have been better timed. Just as the last few rays of the Sun were giving way to the child's delight of a cool evening in which you could run around to your heart's delight. And, paper airplanes stained with glowing green were launched into the night.... by a bunch of kids who really needed to burn off some energy... one of which who was me... once upon a time.
OMG that is the coolest story ever. I easily visualized every detail, and with each word passing before my eyes, a smile spread across my face. Thank you again for sharing this story.

I think your the coolest most interesting, and fun guy I've ever seen. I also was so curious about that as a wee lady and I think this is so cool. Your mind and the way you push through and just do it yourself, doing the math, doing the mixing and just playing around with science simply because it's cool is so admirable and awesome. I love your channel and content and really love the chemical mix, the explaining and metal using videos the most 👌

As a person who hasn't ever taken a chemistry class, I'm about 92% sure this is alchemy and witchcraft.
I’ve done a lot of alchemy and witchcraft. This is mostly chemistry. However, the Shotgun approach was alchemy and the precognition about his results was witchcraft. Go well and Blessed Be, 🧙🏻♂️
as someone who took to many chem classes this is too much chemistry
I took one (mandatory) chemistry class in 10th grade and I’m very much lost. I’m not sure how I ended up here or why I stayed
I loved my college intro to chemistry class but a) it has been decades since I studied chemistry, and b) this seems way, way more advanced than basic chem. I still try to understand what he’s talking about. Usually end up clueless. I like his enthusiasm and creativity.
@@Anonymous-eo2er Hahahaha were in the same boat
That's wonderful.

This was delightful to read. Are you a writer by chance?
@@daluckycat5788 I appreciate the compliment. The only professional writing I've done is technical writing, with two semesters of technical writing courses behind it. I'm an IT person doing cybersecurity these days. It's amazing how important communication skills are. That is, bad communication skills are a major cost in business, and no one seems to care. So, it's these online conversations that have motivated me to add to my repertoire of skills the writing style of a story teller. I enjoy doing it, and I'm so glad to hear that someone appreciates it. Thank you.
