    Thanks. Good narration I and enjoy these types of videos that are within the range of the average do it yourselfer. I live in Canada and can get maple planks for free or next to free. However, if I was a making maple chopping block I would go to the thrift store and buy a couple of...‘Chopping blocks’ for $2 or so and reuse the wood. The same for any small project. For next to nothing it’s is easy to build up a stock of maple, ash, oak, ebony , rosewood, mahogany, etc. Just keep an eye out at the thrift store, One minuteit with the belt sander and usually easy to remove any finish and expose bare wood that can be turned into the next project.

      Very resourceful thinking there. I think using clean wood for absolute beginners is the way to go, but if you know what you’re doing, getting creative and getting wood from thrift stores or Craigslist is definitely a huge saver!
