  • Indian Head may be one of the most iconic and impressive views in all of the Adirondacks. Join me as a few friends and I head up to Indian Head for an early fall hike. This video was recorded on Sept. 17, 2023. There weresome fall colors starting to show, but generally speaking, the trees were mostly green.
    Either way, it was a beautiful day out on the trail! If you're looking for a great hike in the Adirondack Mountains, Indian Head is an excellent option. This hike does require a parking permit at AMR, so that is something to consider. Parking permits are free and can be booked up to two weeks in advance.

      We actually just took the Lake Road out to the base of Indian Head near the lake. There are definitely more scenic routes, but that’s all we had time for. It was 4.5 hours out and back.

    Hey, how long is the hike?

    • @LincolnintheAdirondacks
      @LincolnintheAdirondacks  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's around 10 miles, but a lot of it is on lake road. Probably 4-5 hours total

      @ Awesome thanks! 4-5 hours, back and forth ?

      @@ullah2013 Total, but it does depend on the route you take too. You could make it longer if you took a scenic route

    Hi can I ask the address where I can park?

    How/ where do you get a permit to do this hike?

    • @LincolnintheAdirondacks
      @LincolnintheAdirondacks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You get permits on hikeamr.org. You’ll setup an account and look for times. You can book two weeks out, but the next few weeks are basically the busiest hiking time of the year, so it could be tough, though not impossible, to secure a spot.
      Permits are required May 1-Oct. 31

      @@mikec8978 enjoy! 4 weeks from now we should be in the shoulder season and trails should be less busy. It'll be a great time to hike! Bring micro spikes and keep an eye on the forecast. Snow is certainly a possibility in late October
