- I do every help wanted request on Pierre's storefront for the entire first year to see what they're worth! This was just another curiosity of mine. More to come.. Stardew Valley gamplay with my commentary as always!

I usually notice that the value of the "help wanted" requests is based off the requested object. it is always worth more than the market value, and it seems the objects requested are dependent on both season and progress. If they ask for crops or fish, it will always be of one that is in season. if they ask for gems or ore, they only ask for stuff that can be found before or very shortly after your highest floor. (they can ask for diamonds if you are deep enough)
i feel like they pay you 3x market value for requested objects, but i honestly have no idea where i got that number so i could be entirely wrong lol

@@shadycactus6146 • i know i'm about a year late to this conversation, but Kent just recently requested an emerald in my game and gave me 750 gold when i completed the quest. for context, emerald's market value is about 250 gold, so that was 3x as much as the market value

He asks for 35 ores.
Go to your chest with ores.
Right click to just take *one* at a time until you reach 35 in your inventory.
Talk to Clint.
You'll hear when you reach the number and the ! will bounce every time you add one towards the count.
One need not hold the item when talking to Clint, also.
You can also just put the ore back into your chest once the journal says "complete" (and then go talk to Clint).
Doesn't that work for all items? I do it for wood at least with robin. I don't really help town people. haha, so i don't know the limits to this cheat.
In recent memory I haven't even had any requests from robin, so I'm not sure. XD
@@NulienTia I think when I first started playing the game (a few years ago) I did have a quest from Robin for wood, but that was so long ago I can't really remember.
I think there's probably a few factors that would have to contribute to her requesting the wood. Such as, not knowing anyone else besides Lewis (as those are the first two NPCs our characters meet), and not being able to do anything else (such as fishing). I know I didn't get my fishing rod (way back when) until my sister told me how to get it (which was like day 6-7 of the game). I also didn't know about the mines until even later (again with my sisters help lol).
Since that time, I introduce myself to the other NPCs, get my fishing rod, go mining, etc. a lot sooner than I did back then, so that might be the difference. Would be interesting to experiment with that....

actually, it is always worth it. the reward is about 2x+ the market value, he just never went deep into the mines, so the most valuable requests were for high valued, in season crops, or in season fish. if he had first cleared the mines, they could request diamonds. even without the gem perks, you get more than 1000 g if you succeed the requests.
It is only not worth it if you exclusively do the requests, and absolutely nothing else.
If you want to dance in year 1 flower festival you best be hitting up that help wanted sign
It can be a pretty decent source of seed money early in the game, especially if you're doing the one year community center challenge.
Cullen Latham yeah even the fish requested is based on your fishing skill. I was getting Albacore requests in Year 1. Still not hugely profitable
They should give you a free divorce instead
question: how long would it take to max out everyones hearts without gift giving, just talking to them everyday?
According to the stardew valley wiki, each heart equals 250 friendship points and talking to a person gives you +20 points. To get to eight hearts that means you have to talk to them for 250x8/20 = 100 days straight (a little under a year), and for ten hearts 250x10/20 = 128 days straight (which is a year and two weeks)
That means talking to them every SINGLE day though, otherwise you lose 10 points... and ain't nobody got time for that 😂

My favorite request so far was giving Seb a green bean to lob at the mountain face.
If you look at 4:12, you just closed out instead of accepting Clint's quest, which is why you couldn't finish it. And the quest completion sound was for the quest where you have to give someone a gift.

I wish you would have shown what the hearts were like after that year. Would have been interesting to see what just doing that got everyone up to.
So, for the Clint thing (and any other quest that requires more than one item), you can use items you already have. You just have to right click them one at a time into your inventory. I’ve done this out of chests, but not from the item spawner, so I’d be interested to see if that works.
Oh, and I just remembered (correct me if I’m wrong), I’m pretty sure you just talk to Clint with the ore in your inventory, you don’t need to gift it to him.

There are more specific and I guess rare quests. Had one from Abigail. She was in need of a Seaweed to prank her Dad and the completion dialog also changed to her asking you to dont say a word to Pierre. UInfortunatly you cant tell Pierre about it. That would be cool, if it enables a secret cutscene event or something

Depends for me.
He's fun when he knows what he's doing, but less so when he's still trying to figure out what to do in a new game.
Basically, I wouldn't care to watch him try out a new game, but I would watch him messing around in a game he already got used to.

Ive seen a lot of tips about how making a shed or barn is useful because the space inside is more than the space it takes up outside. Could you make a video that explains what the benefits of filling your farm with sheds could be?

I had mentioned it in a previous video, but you can put the ores in a chest and out them back into your bag one at a time to complete Clint’s requests. I don’t think it works for the fishing requests, though.

Idk if anyone's said it and I know it's pointless, but DF never actually accepted Clint's 20 ore request, which is why it was just given as a gift. The quest complete sound was the giving gifts quest

Once you collect any ore for Clint to inspect you only need to talk with him, not give the ore as a gift. The same goes for the collected slimes Louis will ask for. Love these videos.

The Clint trick is actually a lot simpler than you think. When it comes to the ore based requests, what counts is them being acquired into your inventory, since it's supposed to count how many you are obtaining in the mines , and it doesn't have a special means of doing so, like fishing. All you have to do to complete the request is obtain the designated number of ore individually. This is why dropping it and obtaining it again works. Most people keep a small backstore in a chest at Clints and move the number they need one at a time into their inventory, which will complete the request. It's free money.
You do not need to be holding the item actively while checking in with Clint. Since you keep the ore, the quest does an inventory check for it, since handing it over absorbs the item. So you just need it in your inventory. This is what went wrong with your first check in. It was also counting the one in your hand as a gift.
Sebastian once asked me for a squid to keep under his pillow.
For Clint's copper ore jobs, you only need 2 ores, but more works better. Drop an ore and pick it up, the job counter goes up one. Drop 5 and pick up the same 5, the counter goes up 5. The condition is you have to keep at least 1 in your inventory to keep the counter from resetting.

I had a quest for Evelyn wanting an iron ingot to put under her pillow. Sure...
Just letting you know that it's good you didn't do it on an existing character where you've reached any part of the mine, otherwise you would have seen lots more of Mayor Lewis where he asks you to kill 5-10 slime in the caverns. It gets really annoying, real fast - aside that he pays like 250-500g for those quests.
Also, I do like doing fetch quests for Razmodius the Wizard, because he asks for something like Light or Dark Essence, which he generously pays you 1000g for. Easily one of the better quests in the game.
1000 gold for Killing 8slimes ~= Going trough 5 Levels=pretty easy
I believe Willie asks for water related items because he wants more people and stardew Valley to be fisherman. I think you says that at some point other than when he gives you the rod, like at a heart event or Quest reward.
Yeah, when it comes to the ore requests from Clint, you have to get them in your inventory one at a time so it registers as you getting them. You can do it by throwing all 20 on the ground and picking them back up, or pulling them into your inventory one at a time from a chest or when buying the from Clint.

The geological survey ones are like the fishing ones--you have to go mine brand new ores, especially if you're using a version that doesn't let you put the ore down and pick it back up.

the gathering ores quest requires you to actually gather the ores that day, you can't just grab a stack and give it to him. I tried that the first time i played. just gives him depression

The mistake that both you and DangerouslyFunny made, was to read the quest, but to not accept it.
Then when you try to give the ores to Clint for inspection, you don't have the actual quest so instead you gift one ore to him. But Clint hates ores as gift so he gets a depression.

some of the requests are unique to male / female characters, for example with my girl characters sometimes (usually haley) i get a request that goes something like this "ATTENTION: GIRLS ONLY, I need a cave carrot, you know what it's for ;)" can be other items of course, I think the other I get with that is usually Potatos, but that's definietly some heavy implications with my sorta mind hehe.

For Clint’s quest for me I went to his shop 9:00 am and bought the copper ores right in front of his face and then gave it to him, I believe it works on mobile and pc.

When you do the ore one for Clint you don't give the ore to him, you just talk to him with nothing in your hands but the ore in your inventory!
