On your exhaust manifold I can recommend Zircotec ceramic coatings. The high temp paint is never up to the job. I had mine and my turbo done on 1985 Lotus Turbo Esprit 10 years ago and its still good.
Maybe check calibration of your torque wrench?

You started it up and THEN removed the head? Should have done it completely cold. The studs stripped their threads because you possibly didn't use the nuts that were previously on them. Don't mix them up.

Really good video, just took the head off my MGF to put faster camshafts in and refurbish all the bits and bobs, the old payen gasket 6 years old looked good enough to use again. Ran rough on first start up only to be a spark plug not working.
At least you have lots of room to work under your bonnet. Do you have double valve springs? cheers from NZ
No only single springs, but things may need to change when I get the blower on.... loads of room to work.
But I guess il find out how difficult you have it as ive just bought a MGTF and it arrives tomorrow. It will feature on the channel soon...

Hi what exhaust are you using. Is it single box?
It's a moss tourist trophy... attached to the standard manifold. I wasn't sure about the 3 into 1 on the trophy so stayed stock manifold. I might get another manifold at some point though.

What carb will you fit with the supercharger?
Im going with a SU hif 44, for it's simplicity and that I know SU's well.

Use old fashioned blue antifreeze not the modern stuff…classics don’t like the modern stuff!
