I remove Doll Heads by placing them in a ziplock bag, and placing them in a cup of hot water. Then I just wait for a few minites until the head is squishy. After a few minutes I remove them from the ziplock bag, and remove the head.
azusa! one tip that can help with removing head is:
push down the head (the doll should look like she doesn't have a neck LOL)
then, just POP the head off (the pushing head part should widen the hole to pop off easily)

I've found the best way to remove doll heads is to heat them with a heating pad. That way you don't have to worry about hot water or melting hair from a blow dryer. It gets the vinyl soft enough to even remove the much harder Integrity Toys heads 💖💖💖

What happens if the pin feels loose and flops around? I came here after doing it wrong. I think if I put her head back on, I wont be able to move her head steadily, her heas will just flop about. Is there a fix for this?

Hello, has anyone tried removing a hard plastic Barbie head? The head of my Barbie Rose Princess is not soft/rubberized like most Barbies, it's hard, like the doll's torso. I'm so afraid that if I try to remove the head, I'll end up destroying her for good. :( Her hair got burnt and I really want to reroot her hair.

Hmmmmmm, has anyone tried putting either dish soap or coconut oil into the head to help slide out that last tricky part? Either will wash out/rinse easily. Just wondering . . .

Oh my.....to remove head without breaking the narrow pin....I hold the head and neck part in my hand to warm it up bit. That makes the head a little more pliable. I have a very thin flat screwdriver which I gently work up between the head and neck and then I gently pry all around the flat round part of the neck till the head is off of the neck rim...do not use the body for leverage it will weaken the pin. Only hold the doll by the head. Then work the screwdriver between the spike and the head..once again, do not use the body as leverage. You do need to use precaution that you don't poke the screwdriver through the head (yep, I have done this). If I just want the body and not the head, I cut the head off.
