Most Philadelphia String Bands will wear the same "suit" for all parades throughout the entire year. Their suits are a part of, and resemble, whatever theme that they perform in the competitive String Band Division... a division in the annual Philadelphia Mummers Parade, which has been held every January 1st in Philadelphia, since the first "official" parade in 1901. For this year, the Fralinger String Band did a type of "old Hollywood" theme, so their suits resemble the Charlie Chaplin look.
