Sorry, Cam…This all started with that faulty turbo they gave you from Ryan’s diesel. Keep your head up bro. She will be back. I have faith in you. 👊🏽💯🇺🇸
Cam I really appreciate how you stay cool, sit back and yep there's a problem. Flipping out sure doesn't fix it. Man I would love if all us fans could donate 100 bucks to the cause. It would add up quick. Your truck is beautiful and it deserves the end result of a beastly fresh engine.
I just bought a 2016 off a dealer a few days ago. back for a oil pan leak the next day. Truck has $38,000 in rebuild receipts on the engine. Fingers crossed the mechanic that did it was a real one.
I went through all of this and more with a 6.0 powerstroke, and I must say you handled this well. As a truck lover all we want to do is drive our trucks. Keep your head up brother.
Damn bro, sorry for your loss man! Now you can rebuild from the bottom up and get it done right so keep your head up man. Be waiting on updates whenever you’re ready good luck man!
Commenting for support. Hopefully, someone will step up and sponsor you a sweet shortblock. I'm looking forward to what content may come of this. Good luck, my man.
You been giving me hope ooh-rah even though what I'm trying to save up for. I don't want to go crazy but I do want my 2011 to sound good and have some more power and torque on that peddle. I appreciate that in tell and self made work your doing.
Dam brother, I feel your pain and trying to stay optimistic - I’ve had this before on a 2nd gen and it sounds like a rod knock unfortunately, hopefully not. Edit: yep oil left the chamber from that fkng turbo which seized the piston. Next steps - I agree with getting it done right, an old engine will never be perfect unless you plan to sell. Now getting that engine may cost, highly doubt Ryan’s Diesel would pick up the tab on that but they should at least cover something from a ethical standpoint since they did provide it to you to put on the truck, but then again it wasn’t a straight purchase. If not, move on and just get parts that are from high reputable companies which have high quality standards vs these chop shops pretending to know what they are doing. Like you said we got more content to cover. Stay up brother - she will be back.!
Looking back at the amount of oil that made it through the intake after your turbo blew, I think that cylinder took a good drink of oil and hydro-locked causing the rod to bend. That is what the knocking you heard was. Once that happens, it is only a matter of time before it breaks. Sad to see it let go like that. Best of luck with the repair. Looking forward to see how it turns out. God Bless.
That was my first thought. I was just watching these all in order and was yelling at the tv, like that would’ve helped, for him to shut it down when he first heard the noise… I was hoping when he did the injector shut off test he would’ve caught that it wasn’t the injectors. It happens to the best of us though. He mentioned getting a bore scope but I didn’t see any footage of that or a compression test being done. I applaud the dude for keeping his spirits up though, for sure. I, and I’m sure all of us have dealt with similar or worse at some point and we’re all still here loving it. I’ve blown a motor before and also rolled a jeep that caught fire and burned to the ground in my younger years…sucks but you get over it and build something better and learn from your mistakes. Definitely takes heart posting these clips up for the world to see and comment on. I’m not sure I would’ve been so quick to do it.
Man I feel your pain currently in a similar situation with the 68rfe. Also want to do it right but that also comes with a premium. Hard to do in this economy. Oh well little by little. Keep on trucking .
That suuuucks... Sorry to hear that. Contact Greg A and see if he'll help you out. He's got the room, the know how, and maybe even a donor vehicle for the time being.
I just found your channel iv watched a few videos so far and I called that tap on the the first start up on the new turbo iv herd the tap a thousand times .. I would have cut the filter open one the first tap that's shitty luck dude😢
Sorry to hear about the problem Cam, I’m like you and when a problem should arise you look at the brighter side. I’d shop around and see if you can find a long block. There’s a few shops in Texas that sell long blocks and some provide upgrades like a better piston and what not. You’ve got a great community here that loves the content and will help you find the replacement for it.
I just found your channel, subscribed, and have been going through your videos. I immediately could tell you were a fellow serviceman. That sucks. I hope u got it squared away soon. I came from a 1500 hemi to a 2500 cummins and jeez this makes me wonder about the decision to go from a problem free, 0 to no maintenance NA Hemi to another turbo potentially expensive maintenance vehicle. I've been through blown motors on one of my turbo cars in the past and I know how that is. I'm familiar with that feeling and knock. Anyway, new fan here. Keep up the good content and best of luck.
Damn dude. Sorry about that. My thought. When that vgt turbo popped. Starved the number 6 oil bearing. Due to the oil going out the exhaust etc. Didn’t get it shut down in time before it did damage to the bearings. Also you were traveling HWY speeds which didn’t help. Good luck dude!
I'd forsure do a long block with a set of rods. I seriously hate to see this. But the come back is greater than the set back. I'd look into fleece or d&j. It sucks but if I was in your shoes I'd for sure make sure 100% it goes back together without the possibility of it happening again. Cry once buy once. You'll get it back going and be better than ever. Also I know your on the west coast but I'd forsure take it to a reputable shop who is familiar with the cummins platform! Good luck man, cheering for you in your corner. Keep your head up!
I’m seriously sorry about this bro. It definitely had to be that damn RDS turbo for sure that fk’d up the engine internally. I sold my RDS turbo for my 5.9 and went back to the ATS turbo, I still had it in my work shed, after watching your video and put it back on my truck after figuring out the CCV pressure issue with the truck and the ATS is running if not better than the RDS turbo(knock on wood). I hope you get that beauty squared out and back on the road again she’s a beautiful truck don’t give up on her. Oh and my brother is a Marine also. Semper Fi 💪🏼
1 of our trucks is 08 deleted over 300k on original engine Banks intercooler Just did a head and turbo As a roofing contractor the track has been towing all day every day . No problem Rear end 4.11 Got replaced by a 5500 last year.
Sorry for your loss. Think it out. Get a cam also. Buildup your short block. Buy each piece, when you get everything together, take it to the shop for assembly. Blue print balance bottom end. You'll be alright.
@everythangdiesel. Beautiful 14' truck!! I have a 12' Same truck. One thing I learned, the bottom line is never 'overtouch' 'overmod' items that dont need to be touched... It will never run the same way again... not saying thats your issue, it was mine. Outstanding content!!! I watch all the time. :)
Keep your head up, may take some time but it will come back better than before. Either oil starvation or turbo debris was ingested through the intake..... Either way your old pos turbo did this. I have been in your shoes before and being retired military (enlisted) I know first hand it's gonna take a few paychecks to get back on your feet. Stay positive brother!
Man that really sucks. The truck was running so good too and that sound of the turbo before, wow……. I know if it’s gotta be done, and be done the right way, you are the man and it will be perfect. Good luck my brother …….
Sorry to hear man it’s only a stumbling block you will definitely make it better can’t wait to see her screaming again with hopefully some beefy internals
Sorry to see this man! Keep at it brotha, she’s a looker and will be back in no time. Glad you have a daily driver so you’re not SOL w/out a vehicle at least!
Talk to Patrick from SIX GUN DIESEL. He does some sick work for a great price imo. My 12 valve sounded exactly like that and finally one day I got into boost and it just stopped working lol. It’s sucks but you can definitely come back stronger from it. Just curious were you watching any of the temps prior to it dumping out the side of the block.
When that head comes off there will be apiece of turbo imbedded in the top of number 6 and bent rod and rod bolt broke there are two but I think one held on for a little before it let go .
It was hard to hit thumbs up because this definitely wasn't good news, it broke my heart for you man, but I love the videos and can't wait for you to come back on top!
Keep ya head up bro. Shit happens, you can’t change what’s happened. Shit sucks but an obstacle wouldn’t be put in your way if you were not meant to overcome it. Where in cali are you? 32nd amphibious or up in pen? I know a couple decent shops in the Ramona area
Dang, that sucks! I'm sorry, bro. I've been watching you build this man. I was looking forward to see it up and running. At least you have another vehicle, I would be totally screwed. I would rent a storage unit and do the work myself, and get some new video content. Good luck bro, by the time your finished you will be a master diesel mechanic.
I did notice a lot of knocking on your test drive I’m not a diesel guy but enjoy your channel I’m sure it sucks for you but I’m looking forward to your rebuild you showed a of restraint at the end I’m sure when you cut that camera of smh I can only imagine
That’s sucks if you were in Vegas I would let you use my garage, with that being said make sure you go through a good shop to avoid issues in the future.
Theres a couple comments on greg alberallas latest video about your situation. Not sure how close you are to him but watching his content i think he'd be a great contender in terms of engine work if he's able to help you out!
Hey when life give you lemons paint that shit with Gold....I agree with you man I will not sell that truck either...I know for a fact when you get it fix it will better than ever...can't wait until she back up and running... like always man great vid...and Jah bless.... keep up the great work...
Damn bro, so freaking sorry! That's crazy Cam especially after you said that s**t old girl said so...she does look so good you gots to keep her...great attitude bro i know that ain't always easy either but all because of a brand new turbo..? Keep your head up and God bless you bro.
whats going on Cam it seems like when you had the turbo come apart you start having problems. i know you will find the problem just take your time you will get it done Hero as all ways keep it Cummins. from Carolina Cummins youR the man.
Sorry to hear that brother I have my truck broken to I need new transmission new turbo and new radiator and I don’t have money to fix it my 2013 2500 Ram parking in the driveway is make me feel so bad
This guy would tear up a steel anvil with an eye dropper that's for sure......
He seems like a really nice young man. But he wasn't thinking clearly on that rod knock and diagnosen this one.
Keep your head up Marine. I can hear the emotion in your voice..
Sorry, Cam…This all started with that faulty turbo they gave you from Ryan’s diesel. Keep your head up bro. She will be back. I have faith in you. 👊🏽💯🇺🇸
I knew it wasn't RDS, It was probably Holset VGT turbo was the one it blew up.
@@janamaro5894 somebody else's turbo just killed itself from RD.
I would have lost it.
I just bought a 2016 off a dealer a few days ago. back for a oil pan leak the next day. Truck has $38,000 in rebuild receipts on the engine. Fingers crossed the mechanic that did it was a real one.

It’s not random you shouldn’t be driving it
Maybe metal debris from the turbo blowing could have got ingested and caused damage to the internals?
Oil hydrolock number six and bend the connecting rod maybe?
Commenting for support. Hopefully, someone will step up and sponsor you a sweet shortblock. I'm looking forward to what content may come of this. Good luck, my man.
You been giving me hope ooh-rah even though what I'm trying to save up for. I don't want to go crazy but I do want my 2011 to sound good and have some more power and torque on that peddle. I appreciate that in tell and self made work your doing.
Aaw man my brother loved your channel !! He passed 1/8/21 C19 glad you still at my man
i kind of feel for ya on this, but honestly if you hear that noise STOP. the fact you kept driving on it, what'd you expect was going to happen.

Great mindset Marine, continue to maneuver forward at any cost! Thanks for your service and keep your head up, it will work itself out in the end.
Man I feel your pain currently in a similar situation with the 68rfe. Also want to do it right but that also comes with a premium. Hard to do in this economy. Oh well little by little. Keep on trucking .

15:30 you already know what to do time to get done I sure as hell wouldn't sell just because of a engine
I just found your channel iv watched a few videos so far and I called that tap on the the first start up on the new turbo iv herd the tap a thousand times .. I would have cut the filter open one the first tap that's shitty luck dude😢

Keep your head up bro, props on your calm. I would've probably lost my shit a few times in this video.

Keep up the good content and best of luck.
I feel for u bro. Hopefully u get your truck up and running. All that hard work bummer .
D&j machine sells reman long blocks for like 8k. Just went through it with my 2012. Bad part is you’ll have to eat the core charge.
Sorry to hear that brother. Sounds like a short block time. Yes it will be painful, just hop on a few deployments and that will pay for it.
No fucking wayyyyyy man! Unreal. Sorry to see this happened to you. Beautiful rigg, she will be reborn!

I hope things are starting to strategically come together today for you, Cam!
Damn, that sucks Cam! I never thought I'd see this video! Be well, it will be better than ever soon.
You may have hydrauliced the engine when it sucked in the excessive oil. That will throw a rod. Same would happen if it was a cylinder full of water.
I got a 2022 6.7 cummins engine pulled out a 3500 with 18000km complete with turbos for $6000 canadian
Can't remember which cylinder hole it falls in but..... killer grid heater bolt? Sorry this happened keep ya head up.
His is deleted. Banks horn and cover.
Damn broski, sorry about your truck brother. I've enjoyed watching your channel grow and your new toy forming into what it is. Keep it up bro.
That's horrible luck bro
Your attitude after it happened is awesome way better response than I would have had
As from someone who blew 2 transmissions within a year, I feel your pain 😢
Man that really sucks. The truck was running so good too and that sound of the turbo before, wow……. I know if it’s gotta be done, and be done the right way, you are the man and it will be perfect. Good luck my brother …….
Sorry to hear man it’s only a stumbling block you will definitely make it better can’t wait to see her screaming again with hopefully some beefy internals
Sorry to hear what happened keep your head up and ill pray everything works out for you
damn bro, currently building a shortblock from a crack on the front freezeplug. its never a cheap repair. Best of luck man
Sorry to see this man! Keep at it brotha, she’s a looker and will be back in no time. Glad you have a daily driver so you’re not SOL w/out a vehicle at least!

You need to leave the plastic cover on your injectors to help protect your electrical post on injectors when pushing your injector in .
So sorry that happend brother, but everything can be fixed, keep ya head up and take it one step at a time.
Time for that industrial injection long block🤣 i keep seeing more and more of our 4th gen’s windowing blocks and it’s getting me worried
Noo he doesn't even pull anything with that ram it might be time to trade it in for something cheap on gas!!!!!
I feel for you bro. My transfer case blew up on the highway at 75 mph last month. The insurance company said my truck is totaled.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 keep pushing bro I’m also having truck issues but times will get better!!!!
Dam bro that’s rough I’m sorry dude. You put in so much work on your truck. Keep on keeping on. Appreciate your content.
Never go in dry😂
Sorry about the engine Cam. Keep head up and now you can just pull trigfer on a fleece engine. Lol. We are here for ya buddy
You should look into the wagler short block
Get ahold of industrial injection and see what they have that you can swap and get rolling!!
Looks like rod knock, too.
Threw a rod, damn! Shouldn't of drove it, can't even rebuild it now.
Good luck with the new build, cool truck and it's worth fixing
Bro I'm sorry. Fuck Amazon fuck eBay only garauntee top quality parts certified. That turbo killed it.

crap man you are awesome love you content keep your head up bro
Theres a couple comments on greg alberallas latest video about your situation. Not sure how close you are to him but watching his content i think he'd be a great contender in terms of engine work if he's able to help you out!
If you tubo blew and parts missing you will need to take intercooler off and shake it to get and metal debris out of you intercooler.
English, man.
What are you doing with the old downpipe from stainless?
Hate this happened to you bro, I know you coming back stronger than ever.
Keep your head up. It happen near home and we're not 5 hours from home.

Sorry to hear that brother I have my truck broken to I need new transmission new turbo and new radiator and I don’t have money to fix it my 2013 2500 Ram parking in the driveway is make me feel so bad
sounds like a blown wrist pin ya. Speeds up with rpms. 10 seconds later the rod outside the block. yep, seized the wrist pin blew it out the block.
I can’t help but wonder if the truck had been left stock and just driven if this wouldn’t have happened? Was it an aftermarket part that failed?
I knew it was a rod knock before you showed it. I know that sound. been there done that. Sorry man time to build 💪🏻
Rod knock sounds like. Not good brother 😳
