Teacher here! My favourite gifts, without fail, that ALWAYS make me cry - handwritten cards. My most prized possession is a poem a student wrote me years ago. I still cry when I read it. I’m also on a decluttering journey like you! So stuff isn’t super important to me. Remembering the kids in my class? Priceless! 🎄
I love all of your videos! I have 2 traditions that I do every year with my grandchildren. One is they come over on a Saturday and we decorate gingerbread houses and then go out to eat. My grandson is 14 and this year he brought 3 of his friends with him and they all worked on them together, then we played games and went out for dinner. We had such a great time. The other tradition is I have a themed tea party for my granddaughters who are 5 and 7 years. My sister and daughter in law also come. This year we’re doing a princess tea party. Everything is princess including all the dishes plus I got everyone a tiara. We have such a “girlie” time. These will be memories they will have forever.
I decorate my house with Christmas trees for the Christmas season and every year my husband buys a new little tree and puts it out and sees how long it takes for me to notice. Right now I’m up to 61 trees. That includes big trees, little trees, little trees on shelves.
My simple Christmas tradition was to decorate the tree while drinking hot chocolate and listening to Christmas music with my husband and daughter. But my husband passed away too young at 48 five years ago and my daughter is 28 now and lives with her husband in a different state. Obviously I cried every day the first year my husband was gone …. literally. It was unexpected and devastating. This year I decorated without tears … God has brought peace and calm to my life … I am thankful for good memories and sad over bad ones but God sustains me. And this life is temporal. All things will be made whole again on the other side in heaven. Much love to you and your beautiful family this Christmas season ❤️
Every year I decorate for Christmas and Hanukkah since my fiancee is Jewish and I was raised celebrating Christmas. I love being able to celebrate both holidays together, it's so fun!🎄🕎
Our Christmas tradition is 4 nights before Christmas all of us neighbours all get together for drinks and snacks. It's a great time and we just love catching up with each other. Hugs xoxo
My favorite Christmas tradition is to load the kids in the car and go look at everyone’s Christmas display around town on Christmas Eve. My kids are 43 and 39 but we still go every year❤️🎄🎅🤶🏻
Our family tradition is we go to church on Christmas Eve and then we sled down our hill in our yard with just the outside lights on. Then we go inside to warm up with some hot cocoa and watch a Christmas movie.🎄
Hello Cathrine, One of our traditions is to help volunteer with as many organizations that we can. We helped our police department pick toys for different age groups to be given to families in need. We will be helping another organization by setting up toys for parents to pick out for their children then we will wrap them once they pick them out. We really enjoy showing our daughter the true meaning of Christmas by helping and caring for others in need.
My children are all grown, and I eagerly await for grandchildren to do this Christmas tradition: Each year, my mother would take my children ornament shopping. The children picked out their choice of an ornament. Looking back at the ornaments, I see the boys' John Deere tractors, dinosaurs and boy themed ornaments. My daughter picked ballerinas and crystal stars. Such fond memories.
I'm in a phase of life where im just starting to create new traditions for myself after years of having to follow along with other's expectations. The main thing I've always done since forever is the tree, thats my favourite part even if I didn't do any other decoration. Its a 4ft fake tree, the perfect size for the room, covered in fairy lights, with baubles or pine cones on almost every branch and topped with a star 🌟. Love cozy winter nights wrapped up with blankets, watching a movie and the tree sparkling in the corner ✨🎄✨
My Christmas tradition was when my kids were little, since we live in Florida Christmas was always hot! So I used to shut all the blinds and put the A/C down low to make the house cold and we would make believe it was snowing out! Made it feel a lot more cozy! We did this every Christmas morning! 😀😀🎄🎄❤❤
My husband and I started a tradition with our kids (we also have two boys) to buy an ornament of their choice every year so we can hang it on our Christmas tree. I love seeing them choose theirs and I cherish those moments. More power to you, Catherine! ❤
Hi Catherine, when I was little (I'm now 56), my parents would bring the caravan down to a beachside caravan park for the couple of weeks after Christmas, so I'd get to swim and play cricket with any of the other kids down there. Being summer in Australia I think this was my favourite time of year, as dad was home from work, and mum baked a huge tin of fruit mince pies.
One of my favorite Christmas traditions is driving around listening to Christmas songs, drinking hot coco, and looking at Christmas lights! Also my grandma had gifted me Swarovski crystal snowflakes that I hang on a tiny tree for myself, and I play Bony M Christmas songs (Mary's Boy Child is a favorite) because it reminds me of her.
Your decorations look great! Gorgeous memories with your kids decorating the tree! 🥰 Our tradition for the last 15 years or so is to have kinder surprise eggs instead of crackers. We have so much fun making the toys together as a family after our evening meal. I especially enjoyed doing this when my grandparents and great aunt were with us. It became a team effort putting the toys together and sharing what we got. We all wear funny Christmas hats around the table instead of ones that we would find in crackers. Lots of fun memories! 😍🥰
My family and I always do a Christmas puzzle, have hot chocolate and cozy up to a Christmas movie every year. Little things like these make the sweetest memories. ❤️🎅🏼 Loving the bedding! 🎄
Such a festive video.Really gets me in the holiday mood! One of my new traditions is to drive through a Christmas in Lights with my siblings (we no longer have our parents with us). You buy tickets and drive through the display with thousands of lights and synched to the radio station. My brother buys the party pack so we all are wearing crazy glasses and hats and taking photos, laughing and making memories. Afterwards, we go out for hot coco and enjoy spending time with each other. This is the second year of this tradition but one we all look forward to. I love the lights!
We always took the children to the cinema on Christmas Eve, they loved it and we got to sit and relax during the film. I also always put out a table present for everyone to open after dinner so there is something to look forward too 🙂 Very calming decorating video, thank you!
Catherine, your boys are so adorable, and getting so big! I'm glad you included them in your video archives so that you will always be able to look back to this year and remember your fun memories. Our tradition is Christmas stockings regardless of any other presents - stockings are fun for any age, filled with goodies and small items. I also decorate the tree with almost completely unique ornaments collected throughout the years; each brings memories of times and places and people. Wishing you and your family the very best holiday season! Keep on being your awesome self.
On christmas eve. We really enjoy putting carrot and mince pie out for santa, then reindeer food on the lawn. Then drive round to see the christmas lights.then christmas stories including the night before christmas at bedtime. We also buy a new ornament each year that my son chooses and also make one too. It's lovely getting them all out each year
Our Christmas tradition. I put our family ornaments on the Christmas tree every year which represent the liking of the person. Lots of blessings and prayers for you all.
My Christmas tradition growing up was visiting a nearby circle with an insane amount of lights on every house. It's renowned in the city I grew up in, and has made traction across the country! Love your videos!
One of my favorite Christmas I started with me and daughter is, we go and each pick out a new ornament each year so that when she moves out way down the road... lol she will have her own set ❤
my favorite christmas tradition that my family does every year is even now that my siblings and i grown we still go to my grandmas and bake christmas cookies with her ❤
Our Christmas tradition is taking a pic with Santa. Been doing this for 13 years now and hopefully our kids will still like to do it even when they’re adults.
Merry Christmas, Catherine, to you and your family! Thank you for sharing your holiday decorating with us. One holiday tradition that I started when my kids were little was, as you know, since kids don't have much patience on Christmas morning and want to open their gifts right away, I let them open their stocking gifts and one present from under the tree while we waited for the grandparents to arrive who, of course, never arrived as early as the kids woke up. This kept the kids happy to have a new toy to play with while keeping the grandparents happy who wanted to see the kids open gifts. I still do this with my kids even though they are adults now and we go to the grandparents' house since they are too elderly to travel. Blessings to all!!
My favorite tradition is pizza and Christmas cookies for dinner on Christmas Eve after Christmas services. Low key and no stress Prepping something fancy!
Catherine, You really decorated your house beautifully! Your boys’ faces said it all!!🎄🎅🏻 One tradition in our home is everyone gets a piece of coal in their stocking along with gifts and treats! Everyone on Christmas morning then hurriedly compares who got the smallest or biggest piece!😊I also gift my grandchildren a new ornament each year so that when they grow up and have their own tree they will have a box of ornaments to start with! ❤
Your home came out so nice, one of our family traditions is baking with my kids or grandkids or there friends, we put on aprons and chef hats and create different cookies or sweet treats and put Christmas movies on after baking and eat our special treats..We Live it…
I love the Jew included the boys in the video with helping you with the decorating . Making memories that last forever. I'm the youngest of 10 kids and never having children of my own was really blessed with lots of nieces and nephews that were at our house a lot. When tradition that we always had was each and every person got a paper bag that had an apple and an orange wrapped candy and whole nuts and a nutcracker set and we just love this because we all got to sit around and crack the nuts and ER candy and it was just something that we all just really liked missed that tradition something that once everyone got older just seemed like it just didn't happen any longer.
Favorite gift was a box of assorted small toys, coloring books, crayons, etc. and going to grandmothers house to eat. I really miss that. Love your channel.
Favorite Christmas tradition is specific to me and my hubby, but we love making an event out of the day we decide to watch Polar Express🚂 it's our favorite Christmas movie, so we make it special by having a romantic night complete with some hot cocoa, cookies, and cozy blankets on the couch while we watch. That "officially" gets us in the christmas spirit Happy holidays! 🎄
Your house looks beautiful! I especially love how your mantle turned out ❤🥰 Thank you for reminding us we don’t need to buy new things every year. I didn’t buy any new decor this year, and I’m enjoying what I already own. Our Christmas tradition my husband and I started is on Christmas Eve after church we watch a movie, get all cozy, and sleep downstairs by the Christmas tree 🎄
We get a special ornament with the year and sometimes a picture. We started the first year we married. My husband passed away 3 years ago but I still continue the tradition. We love unpacking them each year.
My Christmas tradition was that we used to go to my grandma's house and sing and hit the piñata it was fun I wish that she would still be here with us she passed away 2013
Those sheets are so cute. I love the wooden calendar. We celebrate Christmas Eve, go to midnight mass and come home and eat again. Ha ha. The decorations look great. Thank you for sharing.
When my siblings and I were little, my mom would make us wait on the stairs when we woke up as she turned on Christmas music and finished getting everything just right. She would always take pictures of our reactions as we turned the corner and saw the living room. And we always had a family breakfast every Christmas morning 🎄🎅🏻
Our tradition, through the years, has been to start listening to Christmas music, as soon as possible. This year we started listening right after Halloween. This gives us 2 good months, 🤣!
TFS Catherine. Our Christmas tradition is baking & crafts together to share. I also give an ornament every year that's meaningful to them. Happy Holidays ⛄🎄☃️
I’ve never had a “Christmas Tradition” growing up but now that I have kids I love decorating for the holidays and adding as much lights as possible everywhere!! Also doing Christmas themed arts and crafts with the little ones to save for memories. Not sure if that’s truly a tradition, I just started celebrating Christmas when I married my husband about 4 years ago. 😂 Merry Christmas to you and your family ❤
Am watching from Belize and my family, well my little family we don't have any Christmas traditions. We don't even have a tree up, totally by choice.😊 The silent war between you and your son with the lights ; adorable.
Hi Catherine, Childcare Educator and Mum of 2. Our tradition is making Fancy shortbread with Cherries on top for Family, Friends, Teachers etc. We do this at Christmas Time and make Hot Cross Buns for Easter! 💜👍❤🎄
My tradition has now become bittersweet. In the last almost ten years, my cousin and I would put our grandparents' tree and decorate their home for Christmas. Last year we did it hoping our grandma would be able to come home from the hospital and see the house decorated. Unfortunately, she never did and it makes me even sadder this holiday season 💔
Just here to engage, I would have watched no matter. But my favorite Christmas tradition is my husband and I drive the fire truck during the Santa Run in our county. Best feeling ever!
One of my favorite traditions was putting on Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music and baking cookies and decorating our tree. Now it just doesn't seem like Christmas without it!
I love your Christmas decor. One of our traditions is to go out and get our real tree the day after thanksgiving. Our 3 kids look forward to it every year. Then we decorate it the next night and watch a Christmas movie 😊
One of our Christmas traditions is picking out and sawing our tree from a neighborhood tree farm. The tree is at its freshest, and no lie, one year we had it up until March 😮 because we love that Christmas tree scent! 🎄👃
We have lots of Christmas traditions - touring Christmas lights, decorating sugar cookies, watching White Christmas - fun throughout the Advent season! One that we've come to enjoy is a family gingerbread building contest in the afternoon on Christmas day - we are pretty competitive! 😂 Thank you for another encouraging video. Your home looks cozy and beautiful!
My sons have his own three too in is rooms he love it with a lots of decorations disney and more every years he is very happy i will said thats a tradition now its gonna be hes 4 time this years :)
Our Christmas traditions are to decorate the day after thanksgiving and we watch Christmas movies together. When the kids were little I use to love to read all the Christmas stories to them! 😢
Your decor is sweet, elegant and practical! We go through a beautiful gold trimmed advent book each night as a family that goes through the Christmas story and we light little tea lights...it's cozy each night as we do this holding our little fake candles and we sing a Christmas hymn. My kids get soooo excited! My eldest plays the piano. He learned joy to the world a few weeks ago so we sang that as he played last night. It's so special!
One of our family traditions is we all pick out a few new ornaments every year. That way we can look back and see how our tastes have changed or our interests ❄️
My family drives around on Christmas eve looking at Christmas lights in different neighborhoods around us. We have hot chocolate and listen to Christmas music as we drive around.
Hi Catherine! To share Our family Christmas tradition. The back story is when our oldest daughter was in 3rd grade our tree topper broke days before Christmas. We used her origami snowflake she made in school and since then we have created a different homemade tree topper every year and use them as new Christmas decor the years following.
On Dec 24th My kids would get in their Christmas pajamas sit on the couch with their hot chocolate and my husband would read the night before Christmas every year. They loved it.
Love your videos very much! Your year of declutterring videos were such an inspiration for me! 10 trips to the donation center and counting! So, thank you so much! Our family has a multitude of holiday traditions, but the most enduring one is that we go to the movies the days after both Thanksgiving and Christmas every year as a family. This year we went to see Wicked and it was phenomenal! 🩷💚 Happiest of holiday wishes for you and your family!
Love the decorating this year 😍 my fav Christmas tradition is setting aside a day for Christmas with JUST my husband and my son. I cook them a fancy dinner and get out all the fancy dinnerware. We eat with music, candles and all the things and then we open gifts and end the day with a Christmas movie. It’s SO fun for all of us. I keep the menu a secret each year. This year is literally Longhorn takeout tho because I’m trying to take out any stress ahead of time for myself 😆🎄

Decorate with music on and all candles lit ! ❤
I love to bake treats and take to the single elders in my neighborhood. They love the visit and the treats.

So much fun...

One of our Christmas traditions is watching the Grinch about 8000 times starting in October 😅 going 3 years strong now 🧡
Our tradition, through the years, has been to start listening to Christmas music, as soon as possible. This year we started listening right after Halloween. This gives us 2 good months, 🤣!
I’ve been listening to it this year about that long too 😂😂
TFS Catherine. Our Christmas tradition is baking & crafts together to share. I also give an ornament every year that's meaningful to them. Happy Holidays ⛄🎄☃️
Your boys are sooo cute, Carson is tall! Your hair looks gorgeous too. The bedding in both boys room are pretty. Everything looks great
Thank you so much!! And yes he is very very tall! Honestly he towers over most of the other boys in his class!
My kids are adults now, but we still continue the tradition of opening one present on Christmas Eve.
Everything looks very festive! 🎅🌲🤶
Ahh thank you!!
U did an amazing job, everything looks so festive including the kids rooms. 🎄☃️
We looove doing Christmas themed arts and crafts over here too!!
Am watching from Belize and my family, well my little family we don't have any Christmas traditions. We don't even have a tree up, totally by choice.😊 The silent war between you and your son with the lights ; adorable.
Hi Catherine,
Childcare Educator and Mum of 2. Our tradition is making Fancy shortbread with Cherries on top for Family, Friends, Teachers etc. We do this at Christmas Time and make Hot Cross Buns for Easter! 💜👍❤🎄
My family Christmas tradition is opening one gift on Christmas Eve. Your decor looks so nice.
Your decor is right up my ally…simple festive touches but not cluttering! I’m not good at bows either but I keep trying 😊
Love your decor, your home has never looked prettier.
Aw thank you so much!! 😊
Everything turned out so beautiful!! I love the garland and stockings on the mantel!!
One of my favorite traditions was putting on Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music and baking cookies and decorating our tree. Now it just doesn't seem like Christmas without it!
Love it!! 🎄
I love your Christmas decor. One of our traditions is to go out and get our real tree the day after thanksgiving. Our 3 kids look forward to it every year. Then we decorate it the next night and watch a Christmas movie 😊
Your home is beautiful. The kids are precious. Merry Christmas!
A family gingerbread contest sounds sooo fun!
Our family Christmas tradition has been to open one gift on Christmas Eve. The best of Holiday Seasons to your family! 🎄
Thank you for this video. Really got me in a festive mood 🥰🎄🥰🦌🥰⭐
Aww I love that!! 🎄❤️
Great and cozy decorating video 🎄.
Take care❤
Thank you for watching!!
Carson, love your Christmas tree!!
My have you and Sutton have grown so much..
One of our family traditions is we all pick out a few new ornaments every year. That way we can look back and see how our tastes have changed or our interests ❄️
My husband and I started doing that when we were dating and then completely forgot one year and never got back into it!
@CatherineElaine awe! Start it again!😁
Your decorations look beautiful. You do have a good eye for your vignettes. I love to help Santa fill the stockings I made with felt and beads.
My family drives around on Christmas eve looking at Christmas lights in different neighborhoods around us. We have hot chocolate and listen to Christmas music as we drive around.
We did that last year!!!
Love all of your videos, you always do a great job on decorating. :)
OH WOW!! That’s amazing, I am so happy to hear 🤗🤗
Love your decorations 🎉😊
I love Suttons bedding❤ lol. My husband and I are the same with the Christmas lights. He likes the colour and I like the white.
Ahh me too!! So so adorable
Love your pillow covers😊
Love the decorating this year 😍 my fav Christmas tradition is setting aside a day for Christmas with JUST my husband and my son. I cook them a fancy dinner and get out all the fancy dinnerware. We eat with music, candles and all the things and then we open gifts and end the day with a Christmas movie. It’s SO fun for all of us. I keep the menu a secret each year. This year is literally Longhorn takeout tho because I’m trying to take out any stress ahead of time for myself 😆🎄
