    Love visiting your videos and touring your home. You have such great taste and such a love for items that were popular during our young days. Wish I had acquired the love for all these items when I was a younger woman and would have had the knowledge to hold on to some of my grandparents items. Keep sharing your tours please. Love them!!

    19:22 - This stairwell is ABSOLUTELY, STUNNING, My Darling! My Goodness, I can't stop looking at it. Why oh why can't kids today, appreciate such things?! They come into homes like your guys place and rip out all this stunning, old school, decor and what they replace it with is not even, one quarter as beautiful, wonderful and charming as this is.
    Please My Darling, if I'm not being too bold in saying it; if ever, you guys decide to sell your place, please, please, make sure it goes to somebody who will appreciate and keep everything as it is now. Too many of these gorgeous, older, homes are bought up and "modernized" and are utterly, destroyed in the process. It rips my heart to shreds, it really does.
    Your home is charming, beyond words, all the more so because places like this are becoming rarer and rarer all the time. A true, treasure. Honestly.
    Warmest Wishes. Out For Now.

    Loved this tour of your beautiful dining area! The milk glass is just stunning. I have a few pieces, but will now keep my eyes out for more of it! I collected Pyrex for years. I have the Friendship Cinderella bowl set. On my 60th birthday my girls had my cake done with the friendship bird motif on it!

    Fun! Fun! I told myself, years ago, I was not going to get "hooked" on the milk glass craze. I always tried to look away when I saw a milk glass item in the thrift store. Somehow, I have still ended up with a few pcs. How'd that happen? LOL. I said, "Ok, if I find the hand and it is cheap, I will grab that." Found the hand. And so on...... Nothing like your collection!

    • @Crazy4Retro
      @Crazy4Retro  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's funny! I know what you mean. I quickly became addicted to looking for white on shelves in thrift stores etc. I think vintage and antique milk glass is gorgeous and would be very happy to see a big renewed interest. It does seem to be desirable for wedding decor now, mostly sale lots of common bud vases. How pretty that must be. I decided to sell a large compote and bud vase in the cabbage rose pattern (Fenton?) on eBay last year and it sold quickly. Some antique shops are now charging fairly high prices for pieces, especially Fenton or Westmoreland.
      Thanks again for sharing your story❣

Yes, my brother has been so generous to Norm (with guy things) and my younger sister and me! We do our best to treat him with homemade meals and pies and cakes from the best bakeries, etc. Norm helps him with chores and computer related problems too and we are grateful that he lets us do those things for him. He is 76 but has some serious health issues so we are happy to find ways to be of assistance to him. He has spent his retirement selling things on Craig's List but not eBay, etc. So that keeps him pretty busy. Thanks again for your kind support of our channel and we hope you have a blessed weekend!! @@missnicolemacy 👋 Hello!!
      Here is a much longer description of how I hung the milk glass plates that I copied from a response to another person previously. THANK YOU FOR WATCHING AND COMMENTING!!
      I'm only using plates with open lacy edges so I could run clear nylon fishing line through each side about a third of the way down the side. You dont want to go to far to 1/2 way because the plate would hang out from the wall. Even though I'm using around 12 lb or more weight line, I double what it's hanging on. I slide a scissors or something that thick under the thread to give a little slack before tying it tight. Then I also use regular tape for taping down the ends to the back of the plate just for some more security. You can't hang one with the line tight across the back. It needs some slack to form a point up and over your nail. That point will eventually get dented enough to keep it from slipping. The fishing line could stretch a tad eventually too. It takes patience and sometimes having to redo it when you get it too tight or too loose. I hope all that makes sense if you are planning to try it. I just figured it out on my own.
      Thanks for watching my videos. I hope you enjoy them and write again❣ Have a blessed week. Sincerely, Retro Peg

    Hi I just love your table! Imagine inspiring a lazy Susan design. Maybe you could post the link to the store if they are still around. I’d love a green or blue. I think your dedication to changing your displays to bring out different colours or themes, so they can be seen fresh and enjoyed from a new perspective is a testament to your creativity and love for your collection. I collect china melitta coffee filters.... I love the colours. I have pale blue, chartreuse green, yellow, pink and mint green. I have them in sizes 100 ( one cup) and 200, 400. I have a whole coffee set, pot, filter, cups and saucers in several colours and sizes. I enjoy the solid plain colours, arranged side by side. I love drip coffee and use them each morning. I recently moved and had to scale down my collections. The Melitta I saved and am trying to figure out how to display them in the new kitchen. I want an open display and your work has inspired me. I sold half my collections to pay for my move, which was incredible ( and sad ). I also put up a smaller Easter display this year. I love the changes of the season and decorating accordingly. Thanks for sharing.

    • @Crazy4Retro
      @Crazy4Retro  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Christine 👋! So fun to hear from you again and nice of you to share about your Melitta collection 😊. I've never seen them before but looked it up. They are very cool and must look fantastic together with those colors 🥰!! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for them! That is so fun to use them each morning. I love using our 60's porcelain colorful mugs all day too. They tell you, it's better for your china to use it. I'm happy if you can get some ideas from our displays! 🙂 💚 It's funny, I love drip coffee too. Don't know if it's considered drip, but I grew up with my mom's old stainless vacuum coffee pot coffee 😋. Our last name is Curtis (my maiden name). Did they make the pots or carafes? Are you familiar with glass Cory rods used in those pots? Those were good memories.
      So sorry you had to sell so much of your collection. That's hard.
      Regarding the lazy Susan, I thought of just letting them know about our video, but didnt find any good information that showed they were still in business. Nothing was updated from way back then. Oh well.🙄
      I really appreciate your notes and support, Christine!!💜 Thanks so much and have a great week!! Peg

      Hi Candi! Thanks so much for watching this video and writing to me with your fun question! I really have never minded dusting the pretty things. Whenever I change them for the videos, I dust the shelving. The seasonal items hardly get time to get dusty since they are put out for only a few weeks. It's easy dusting with Swiffer cloths and the wands are great too.😊 Norm is also very helpful to dust off high shelves and takes care of the mirrors for me. Dusting feels good as well as vacuuming and Norm also does most of that now. We hope you have a blessed spring

      Hi Sandy! Always fun to hear from you. Thanks very much for watching my dining room (2nd amateur video) tour! That is awesome that you love milk glass and very funny what you say to hubby--LOL! That sounds like Norm, alright. He would love to be fishing, but he gave up his boat(s) several years ago and now we just can't afford what he wants (a nice pontoon). He even wants to live in a house with lake shore! I don't sadly, but whatever. I just don't want to live in a small town up north from us and have a hospital and our clinic miles away at our ripe age. We're only a few blocks from them now. Regarding hanging up my plates, I've only displayed ones that have lacy edges so I could run nylon fishing line through the holes about a third of the way down (half way would make them hang out too far from the wall). It takes practice and sometimes I'd have to redo it to get it just right, but I'm always determined. I used mostly 20 lb. line. Does hubby have any to spare?? If you need more detailed instructions, let me know. Thanks again for your support and fun messages. Have a blessed week!

      Hello! Thanks for your question. My single brother has been a collector of lots of vintage and antique items that he could find very cheaply at flea markets, thrift stores or garage sales for decades. He had friends in Iowa and South Dakota where he found lots of great deals. He sold in an antique shop near his home (5 miles from us) here in MN. He left the shop years ago and in the past several years he's been downsizing and giving me as many of his collectibles that I will take. That includes many of my parent's things that I did not want 20 years ago when my mother passed that he had saved. Thanks again for being in touch with questions. Have a great day! Peg
