How sad and what an injustice that there only 13 comments for this exquisite song sung by the incomparable Nic Jones. His mastery of the guitar coupled with the most expressive voice made him such a treasure.
"The Noah's Ark Trap" was one of the best LPs of 1977, and an all-time fave-rave of mine. I still have my original vinyl, and so wish that there could be a Remastered with extra tracks" CD reissue, but - as you all may know - the title is no longer available. Certainly a contender for the best folk LP of all time. This is such a gloriously gorgeous song.
Perhaps my favourite track from the best album of all time. I was fortunate enough to see Nic live in the late 70's and his music has been a constant companion ever since. Simply gorgeous.

He uses his own kind of vocal ornamentation . Really adds pathos to the music. Masterful.

The talented Mr Jones ….this song has been a good friend to me for many , many years .Sung and played beautifully here by a folk legend ….

My Mother would sing this to me when I was a tiny child. I've sung it to myself throughout my life. I'm 72 yrs now. 😘
