  • Welcome back to the Channel - I got a clip here from a recent In-Person Pitching Lesson that serves as a good explainer to a Mechanical Component that i've been referencing a lot lately - "Drive Leg Loading Phase" - Scroll below for more context on this particular subject!

✅ BACK TO MORE CONTEXT ON DRIVE LEG LOADING 👇
    🚨Load-Drive-Store-Snap-Capture-Leverage-Launch-Block 💯
Let’s just dissect the Lower Half Mechanics and how the early stages of the lower half mechanics set you up for a successful launch phase of our throw.
Loading Phase Influences the Following Mechanical Components 👇
    Drive Phase Stride Length
    - Your load is a direct correlation to your stride. If your load is compromised odds are the stride is going to be compromised. The stride is simply an opportunity to create space, buy time for the throwing arm to do it’s thing, and to give your hips enough time to initiate rotation prior to anchoring down.
    Acceleration Down the Slope
    - We can pick up energy by accelerating our bodies down into our block pretty easily BUT we can pickup even more potential energy to block n send up the chain IF we use our loading phase as a means to accelerate. Which leads us into the next piece..
    Alignment to Block
    - The space created will also help with your alignment/posture upon anchoring down. It goes back to the buying time concept for your body to align in the most organized way to block/receive energy. If this process is cut off due to suboptimal loading then we’re not going to be able to get our alignment to organically block the forces against the lead leg. CLEAR DA HIPS!
    🚨🚨🚨
PLEASE UNDERSTAND that Loading the Drive Leg doesn’t mean completely shifting all weight back n leaving weight back for the entirety of the drive phase.. sure there’s components that we can implement that shift our weight back initially but once the load is loaded then we need to transfer that load by snapping our hips into rotation prior to anchoring down.. this aligns us to go get our release.. like Jones is doing in this video clip.
Also, there’s plenty of guys who don’t load great n still produce extremely high power output.. there’s NOT MANY dudes who can do it so might as well check all the boxes needing checks to put yourself in the best possible position to play this game for a long time!
