In the last 40 years, I have listened to different performances of this work perhaps over 1000 times and this performance nearly comes across as one of the top performances! The orchestra's sound clarity and recording quality are to be commended. The conductor obviously capturers the Tchaikovskian spirit. Some may like Tchaikovsky for his spectacular melodies. But, clearly seen here, Tchaikovsky's mastery of orchestration is monumental and in a league of his own. His orchestration gives opportunity to each and every instrument to shine at the right moment. The spectacular melodies are intertwined with counterpoint and harmony in such cascaded and overlapped style that mesmerizes the listeners.
Tchaikovsky would have been delighted that such a HANDSOME and talented man conducts his music :)

This great work by Tchaikovsky is not performed often enough. It’s overall better than the popular Romeo & Juliet overture. Thanks for the upload.
