This sounds like it will get bad. For the police chief to say, they want everyone to prepare "in case we cannot get to you in time" is a clear indicator that things aren't going to get better.
They're just taking precautions in case the storm hit the gulf, turn back into a cat 2 or 3, then turn towards Texas which is most likely to happen. They will get hit bad if it does.
None of this information brings comfort or peace. What would have been encouraging would have been a prayer for safety during this PSA. Prayer changes everything. Preparedness includes checking all four tires on your cars and make sure you carry a spare tire or a loose tire to install on your wheel incase you get a flat tire. A lot of newer cars are sold without spare tires and get left behind because they don't have a replacement tire. Check your tires, a lot of cars drive around with bad wheel alignments and the tires wearout prematurely and have tire blowouts.
