TheRealSonicFan There's a difference between underrated and a garbage game. Sonic 06 is just trash with the only redeemable thing about it being the soundtrack (you know it's bad if even the demo version plays better than the actual game). The only game I can honestly say is even worse is Sonic Boom because there's nothing good about it at all, not even the soundtrack.

This was really good cobi. Well-explained and I hope you can do it for another franchise! Heroes will forever live on as one of my favorite newer sonic games.

Sonic Heroes is the most underated Sonic game, it had fantastic level design, amazing music, colourful graphics which were very good at the time and the levels were 4-10 minutes long which gave you plenty of replayability and this was one of the very few games where Sonic Team actually pulled off playing as other characters. Sonic Heroes was a great game overall, like if you agree!
Same! I like this game so much that i even bought the ps2 version. But i hate how you need the chaos emeralds for the finale. Took me 5 months to get the 7th emerald. The special stage controls are too slippery.
Definitely agree but didn’t like the ps2 version as there was too many glitches for me but other than that I can’t argue with you here
It's very refreshing to see an actually top 5 of sonic games where the person knows what they are talking about. You pointed out all the flaws of each game and good parts of the game but not only that you added your experience with the game. Even with that you are honest about the game even tho you love it and enjoyed it which what other people lack when it comes to stating opinions. Great Job dude

Heroes and Riders are definitely underrated, I agree with those the most. Never played Black Knight, Shadow isn't as bad as people make it out to be, and Sonic 4 Ep 2 is fine as a stand alone game. Great list dawg :)

Thank you for mentioning Sonic 4 Episode 2! I really love that game and it's sad that not a lot of people seem to agree. And Sonic Heroes is my first 3D Sonic game and still one of my favorites to me. Way too underrated.

1.- My new all time favorite Sonic game! Sonic Boom! Joking aside, it's Lost World, and yes, this is my favorite Sonic game of ALL TIME (it was Adventure 2 but Lost World is better in my opinion).
Always good to see S&TBK getting some love. The controls were a bit off but overall I agree that it's a fun if flawed game that improves over its predecessor by so much.
Also: dat Excalibur Sonic.

My list is:
5. Sonic Lost World Wii U and 3DS (The 3DS version wasn''t that bad if you ask me).
4. Sonic Adventure 1 and DX version (This game deserves more praise than Adevnture 2, it's aged, but it's still a fun time and it has better level design than Adventure 2).
3. Sonic Advanced games and Sonic Rush games (They're pretty fun and a nice throwback to the classic games, plus being on headhelds gives them some major points since you can take them anywhere).
2. Sonic 3D Blast (I actually had a lot of fun with this game as a kid and I still do, it deserves more love. I wish I can actually play the Saturn version, but I don't have a SEGA Saturn).
1. Sonic Unleashed Wii and the PS3 and XB360 versions (Defiinitley not the best Sonic games, but I feel they're still fun. The Wii version has better Daytime stages and the PS3 and XB360 versions have better Werehog stages. The story is one of the best Sonic has EVER done and the games can just be fun. If they took the Daytime Stages from the Wii version and the Nighttime stages from the PS3 and XB360 versions and put them together, then the game would be just a WHOLE LOT BETTER!!! That's my way of saying the Nightime stages in the Wii version suck and the Daystages in the PS3 and XB360 are a bit of a mixed bag, they're just a bit too fast and it can be kind of hard to control Sonic.

James Plata Meh, I don't know, I barely had any fun with SA 2, most of the Shooting and Treasure levels were just awful and I NEVER had any fun when playing through some of them. I found those levels more fun to play through in SA 1.
James Plata yeah true, the gameplay is the same, but I'm talking more about the level design. In my opinion, the level design in SA 2 DOES NOT fit the Shooting gameplay, there's way too much crap happening at the same time, and there is WAY too much platforming for a character that's actually not much of a good jumper. The Treasure levels were ok, but the radar just messes me up WAY too much and it just doesn't make them fun for me. The levels were designed much better for those gameplay styles in SA 1
James Plata ok, well I actually played SA 2 first before SA 1 and I bought SA 2 just recently, and I'm pretty much a terrible new player, so the Shooting and Treasure levels were new gameplay styles to me, so maybe it was just me sucking. But even then, I barely had any fun playing SA 2 and I rather not play through the story EVER again!!!
The rush series are underrated as fuck!
+James Plata I think sonic adventure is much better. Everything outside of sonic in sa2 falls flat on it's face, not to mention a butchered radar(treasure hunting), dickish enemy placement and horrible camera angles and control(mech shooting).

The Sonic Rush games get overlooked allot but I think that might just be due to them only ever being released on the DS.
Not exactly a top, but.
1. Sonic: Lost World. Seriously...
2. Sonic And The Secret Rings. This game kept Sonic's spirit. Darkspine Sonic. Also I didn't have any problems with controls
3. Sonic And The Black Knight. This game kept Sonic's spirit too. Music from SADX, interesting plot twist. Also didn't have any problems with controls.
4. Sonic 2006. Really. This game is not one of the worst games ever created. I freaking enjoyed it. Playing as Silver, Shadow, Blaze and Omega was epic. Also dat Mephiles fight *_*
5.Shadow The Hedgehog. The atmosphere was so FREAKING EPIC. The music was epic as hell. Guns were FUN. Black Doom is an awesome villain.

I love the video, superb in every way! I really love The Sonic Adventure 1&2 series and Shadow could have been WAY better if they story boarded it differently, the edginess was AWESOME, but yeah they made Shadow to gimmicky with the "badass" persona. The Sega team needs to step up with the story telling and with some of the game play.

I haven't played Lost World 3ds too much. I borrowed it for a weekend with a friend, but I didn't mind it too much. Controls took a bit to get used to but after that it was fun :] And I love the rush games/colors(pretty much rush 3).

I think Unleashed should've got the honorable mention. It gets way too much hate for the Werehog, which I actually loved to use. Also, it's actually good, unlike Shadow.

I don't see why 06 gets alot of hate, its not as glitchy as adventure 2, has decent graphics for the starting games on the ps3 and 360, it had great new villians and a badass new hedgehog with cool powers, one of the best soundtracks in any sonic game, and though it had alot of glitches most happened when you looked for them, when I played it I rarely saw any especially on the ps3 version because I tried a few i saw and none worked

The reason for "Slow gameplay" is that you don't know that THERE IS A RUN BUTTON AND A SPINDASH! Story is what you would expect for a Sonic game. 2d sections were also in Sonic Generations and every classic game ever. If you don't want it to stick then don't jump there. Difficulty spikes because that's how a game usually is. Wisps are optional sometimes.
First, you say the game is slow. Then you say it's fast?

I agree! Lost world is underrated and the hate for it is just...idk. It's just people want to really find something to hate.

5. Sonic Rush Adventure - More fun than the first one IMO.
4. Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity - The ONLY Sonic Riders game I can honestly say I enjoy.
3. Sonic 4 Episode II - Again better than the first, and am I the only one bothered by the fact that the people who claim this game is uninspired also throw praise to all the New Super Mario Bros games (which I see as FAR less original)?
2. Shadow the Hedgehog - When people complain about this game it's mostly nitpicking. The controls don't take that long to get used to and the levels have good replayability.

1. SONIC 06! - Yeah. People really need to calm the fuck down over a game that was simply "Just bad". I won't defend it as a good game, but it does not deserve to be considered one of the worst games ever, let alone worst Sonic game. It's at least more fun than Sonic Boom.

5. Unleashed (Lots of people complain about the wherehog segments, but I liked the switch in gameplay, it helped keep it fresh, and the graphics and level design were nice, story got cheezy at parts though)
4. Zero Gravity (It fixed the control problems of the origonal and had a soundtrack that I think is much better
3. Triple Trouble (Like no one talks about this game, great music, character, and gameplay)
2. Shadow the Hedgehog (If you delve into the games story there is some pretty memorialable scenes and bosses, the level design however, was really bad in lots of parts and felt narrow and bland.
1. 06 (It felt like there was something at the core of it that could have been really good have it been given another year of development, I don't think it was bad, but unfinished.

Sonic Unleashed story didn't get cheesy u dork it was a sad and great story and spectacular ending for a sonic game but still gets so much hate WHY I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY!

What I feel is one of the most underrated Sonic games is probably Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. I've replayed that game so many times and it's one of my favorites, and I never hear anyone talk about it. The enemy designs in that game were super cool, and it was fun to play as all the different characters and experiment with your team. I wish people talked about it more.

I wish sonic heroes had much more love. It was my first sonic game I ever played and it was super fun and the music was amazing. This game introduced me to sonic. Year later when I figured out the internet I wanted to see a full walk through of my childhood game and I found cobanermani456. oh memories :3

Sonic heroes was one of the first video games I ever had so it’s understandably my personal favorite. I remember that I didn’t even know the final Metal Sonic fight existed. I was just playing through to get 100% completion and when I scrolled to the right past team chaotix and saw Metal Sonic stepping out through the team box I was in shock.
And as a side note, almost all the level themes for heroes was amazing. Especially final fortress, seaside hill, grand metropolis, and hang castle. The game was all around really memorable and I think all the hate it gets is from people who haven’t really given it a chance.
Speaking of Sonic Riders, I bought Sonic Riders 2 Zero Gravity when it came out years ago and it was fantastic. I spent so many hours on that game it was really fun, despite motion control.

For me, I am not a Sonic fan in particular, but I feel that the Sonic Rush series doesn't get enough love, played the first when it came out, and I loved it.
