I own a w124 300e inherited from my father, 215,000km it works very well and starts cold at first, as soon as I turn on the ignition the engine starts, but after driving for a while with the engine warm, then when moving warm It's a nightmare, this information is very useful to me, I'm going to replace the pump and see how it goes, thank you very much and greetings from Spain
I’m looking at buying a 560 SL and your information is so helpful to me. It not only tells me what I may need to look at and what costs I will need to consider. Thanks much
Hi Ken👋 I watch your channel often, to learn as much as possible about the Benz. I have an M110, 1987 SWB 280GE/4sp/4x4. And I’ve noticed that you don’t say much about the GKlasse… I wonder if one day you could do a segment, pointing out components, parts and procedures which cross over to the Gwagen. As well as rebuild kits (ie, Sperry/Vickers pumps, KE-Jetronic fuel distributors, WUR, etc). And, those fantastic Ken-tools you always rig-up🤓! I’m sure that I’m only one of many Gwagen enthusiast who follows you. Thank you 😊
i learn a lot from this series over years and now i am on my 4 merc this time i got my dream car from past '83 w123 m110 about to finish and this would be impossible if not your .
For the people who have direct injected minds like me; put the video on 1.25x speed.....that being said; i dig these vids a lot. And not only because Kent's last name originates from my province in the Netherlands ;)
Sorry, but not everyone has a direct injected mind...:-). In fact my delivery is deliberate because I know that English is not the first language for a lot of people watching these videos.
Does this system replace the FID for the 1982 500sl ? It looks like it should but wasn't sure if the 500 had a different pump? Thank you for the video!
The fuel pump itself will be the same, but you may have a different accumulator or hose set-up. You would need to email some close up pictures to sales@mercedessource.com for me to confirm.
I recently bought a 1985 280SE, it runs aceptably in GNC (compressed natural gas in argrntina) but nothing happens with fuel. We gonna remove the tank to clean it (2 years standing) Probably i may start the rebuild the FDS from the back
I have a doubt, I need to install my fuel pump and the brown cable which I supose it's the phase one, only fits on the negative connector of the pump, is that okay or should the blue cable be connected to the negative sign of the pump?
I need help with an ‘84 230e, what kit should I buy? I can’t find a kit for my 4cyl. I’d like to just get an accumulator and the hoses, my pump was replaced as well as the filter.

Can Anybody over here help me? The car used to have a problem starting. I had changed fuel pump relay nad it went fine for a bit with starting. Now I can not start it and the fuel pump relay is fine and fuel pumps themselves are too. The problem seems to be in electrical, but i can not find it. Please all help is appreciated. Thank you in advance. P.S. It is a 1988 560SEL.
You really are a great help for many classic Mercedes owners!
I appreciate that!
Thanks much for the FID show and tell.
You bet

My 230E is the same. Did a new pump cure your problem?
My FID hoses failed twice in different areas within less than a year on my 39 year old 107. Thanks for the FID alert!!👍
I don't own a Merc of this era, but a BMW with a similar F I D. Thanks for the lesson in fuel delivery!
Thank you so much Kent, forever young 😊

Great instructions as I work on my ml320 2001 in American Samoa how can I order my parts from you for USPO delivery to the island
You can email my daughter, Kaia, at sales@mercedessource.com and ask her if that would be possible.

That model was never imported into the U.S. Sorry I can not help with that one.
@@Mercedessource thank you anyways, I’m piecing up my own hose kit.
Many thanks for the video, do you sell the fuel dampers from the 1970's MB cars?
No sorry, they never go bad so there is not demand for them. We do sell the fuel accumulators though.
Are there any more fuel filters in a 1971' 280SE 2.8 other than the one in the fuel tank?
Yes, there is a canister type replaceable element filter in the engine compartment by the left motor mount arm
Nobody can complain about a car that starts to have problems after 25 years old, as lots of plastic modern trash doesn't make 5 years old!
Will the same FID Kit work on a 1989 300 SEL 6 cylinder, or is there a different kit for the 6 cylinder W126?
The components on the 6 cylinder are different from the V8. Sorry I do not have an FID kit for the 300SEL.

Hi. Quick question. Can you replace accumulator with simple non return valve?
I can't or won't, but you can since it is your car.
Nice video
