I tend to enjoy your overviews of these classic Marvel omnibuses more than most! I think it has to do with the historical aspect behind them and seeing the foundation behind so much of the modern material. I truly enjoy these older comics and love seeing them get the spotlight!

Thank you for covering the Epic (and Masterworks) comparison, Omar. I'm traditionally an omni collector (over 10 years), but started picking up Epics for gaps where Omnis haven't been released or announced yet.
I still believe we will get reprints of The Mighty Thor volume 2 and 3 one day and it will continue to volume 5 and other future volumes. I will be collecting them. I can't wait to get my copy next week coming up.
I got some of these issues in the omnibus as floppies, so it's going to be great comparing the colours. Great review as normal and I hope like others vols 2 & 3 will get reprinted.
Hey Omar, I've been buying the early silver age Thor Epics, with Volume 8 on its way to me. This is the era when I was buying single issues of Thor. I should have bought the later Epic volumes but focused on my favourite era. The omnibus is tempting but I'll stay with the Epics. Cheers mate.
Thanks for the review. If I see it marked down like captain britan or the cap america omnibuses. I’ll pick it up. I would enjoy reading it. But I didn’t get any of the Thor’s before Walt simon. I have Walt simon and Jason Aaron vol 1 and 2.
Yes. That was how it worked. It was obvious to me when I bought the original comics done that way that the art had been scrimped on as there was much less detail on those pages.
I still get this deflated feeling when I hear ‘Imak’ opened my copy today and found a big bump on the inside front board, possibly extra glue that hadn’t spread evenly. Then the bleed thru… I’m just continually underwhelmed by the production values on what I regard as very expensive books.
Can’t wait for this to arrive. I love John Buscema.

Marvel have done a good job of collecting Thor in recent years. Only 4 orphaned issues in the whole main series

Honestly, if I could just get a Tom Defalco Thor Omnibus or two, I'd be content with my Thor collection.
I felt that these double page spreads ( at least on other titles) looked inferior. I could tell at the time that they were less detailed.
I’m sticking with my Masterworks. Not a fan of Conway’s Thor.
